Should the NCAA put EA on probation?

Once, I bought multiple titles each year from EA Sports: Madden, NCAA Football, NCAA Basketball, NBA Live, Formula 1, NASCAR, MVP Baseball (MLB & NCAA), NHL, World Superbike, Rugby, Cricket, even V8 Supercars. These were played on PC, original Xbox, and PS3. Several of the series listed have disappeared. Others are shipped with bugs, then fail to realize their potential when patches are issued. The only series I have listed that maintains any level of exceptional quality is NHL. The only series I maintain any hope for is FIFA.

I will tweak gameplay sliders to try to make NCAA Football 12 playable for me over the next couple of weeks. I may drop to varsity, change the speed, change up my shoddy play calling. The long awaited patch seems to have resurrected the fearsome Robo QB, unleashed a fierce pass rush, crippled both the human passing and running games. When you finish a session and need an aspirin, it stops being a game. It stops being what video games are intended to be: fun. Once FIFA arrives, NCAA Football 12 will be sold, or will just find a resting place on the shelf.

I considered writing for OS. I enjoy games. I enjoy writing. I enjoy reading the feedback on the forums. OS is a great source of information. But when the games stop being enjoyable there is little use in viewing them, or writing about them, in a serious/admirable tone. I try not to be negative, or unfairly critical. Given my first impression of NCAA Football 12 post-patch #2 I cannot help but feel that this series is in trouble, and that this generation of gaming has peaked long ago. There are more important things in this world to worry about. There are better things to spend $59.99 on.
