All I want for Christmas is a.... Closer!

Dear Santa,

I've been a very patient Indians fan over the years... I've been tricked into thinking we were contenders many times over. There was that World Series in 1995, the crushing defeat in 1997, (By the way... do you know the Devil? Tell him he's a jerk for agreeing to buy Craig Counsel�s soul) and even 2007's three games to one meltdown against the Red Sox.

But even I, the patient Indians fan am getting tired of watching game after game be lost in the late innings due to a lack of a reliable closer... and that's where you come in Santa...

All I want for Christmas is a Closer... whether it be Huston Street, Trevor Hoffman, Kerry Wood.... I really don't care, I just want someone that can shut the door, and kills the hopes of the opposing team. Is that really too much to ask?

Be a pal and send me some Christmas time joy this offseason will ya?

You shouldn't have run Borowski out of town then!

Not having a closer = gut rot in the 9th inning.

Borowski? I don't recall that name... are you sure you didn't just make up an imaginary person?

I certainly didn't see anyone that resembled a closer for the Indians with that name.

Now, I'm not saying that Jensen is the answer. But he's not bad for an answer. Who knows? Maybe Hoffman won't pull a Foulke on us, and sign here this time for real, but I doubt it (remember we offered him much more than SD did to retain him in 2008). Either way -- back end help is needed -- and Santa can't grant that wish, because Mr. Bojangles don't keep these keys.
