Madden 15 comparison with other sports game

hello there!

let's start by sayin this: i am not a sellout fan of anything, and i always try to speak my mind above all cause i don't get money by anyone and i'd like to post my impressions just for the love of discussing it with you guys.

first videos , screens and stuff of Madden 15 came out after e3 and as it happens every year this time, the buzzing around the game is already pointing fingers to a game that isn't even out with a demo.

we always take other sport titles to compare with Madden but, is it really fair?

does we ACTUALLY have a point in doing that?

i started asking myself this question and i realized that maybe it is just too easy to get used to hate the game ignoring the improvements.

let's talk about comparing different categories:

1- GAMEPLAY

we all can say that Madden has a lot of flaws and my god it's not perfect at all; they are trying every year to balance the game between offense and defense but at this point, i feel like they are working on a base system that was born with flaws, and maybe they will never be able to fix entirely this gameplay.

but are other games perfect? hell no...

i am Italian, born and raised watching soccer, and i can tell you that Fifa has a lot of flaws (online mainly) that sometimes, makes you really hate that game. that's why P.E.S. has a lot of fans here in Europe, cause by the sim and gameplay standpoint it's a hard battle.

is PES gameplay perfect? hell no, it is full of glitches.

NBA2K? yes, we all love that game, but gameplay sometimes takes you away from the game with all those animations maybe longer that they should be.

2- ONLINE

again, i live in Italy so keep that in mind.

Madden has always been one of the most solid online game i ever played.
every year i am a first day buyer of Fifa, NBA2k, Madden, TheShow and sometimes PES, and i can tell you easily that madden is the best when comes to online gaming.

NBA2K is the WORSE, but it seems like it is not that huge concern cause the game is great to play; i get it but, after playin games with the cpu, i mean we are in 2014, i want a title that i can play online without lag, glitches, disconnections , and unfortunately i feel like these are major downsides of other titles, but not for Madden.

Sports games are about playin opponents, and if i can't do that, man if that was on Madden oh lord ...

3- PRESENTATION

Madden has a pretty tough way to go to be able to finally satisfy us the players with a presentation that we all can enjoy but again, is it the worse game talking about presentation? HELL NO!

Fifa is way worse. those replays... wow, in Fifa you can see replays that i never saw in 28 years as a soccer fan, awful.
i feel like maybe NBA2K and TheShow are leaders in this category.

4- "My PLAYER"

yeah, now we can sau it without a doubt: MADDEN is been the worse experience when you choose to have a career as a player. at this point, i'd feel better if they don't even put this feature in the game.

5- REALISM

i know that for most of all Madden is the worst here but for me it isn't.

NBA2k sometimes let players like Anthony Morrow, Trevor Ariza, Goran Dragic rape you by shooting with amazing (and unreal) percentage; yeah we can change sliders and whatever but this game should replicate the game of the NBA and to be honest, if i am playin in an online league i'll have more chances to win it all with people like Eddie House, Scalabrine and Posey (yeah Celtics fan here) than maybe Wade and Lebron or others, and that takes away every beat of realism,

Fifa here it's even worse, when you play online with your friends in your club, you can see new glitches every game you play.
everytime the ball hits the crossbar it goes straight to the feet of the opponent's scorer, EVERY TIME.

the rebounds the ball take, goalkeepers sleeping on long way shots and stuff...

IN THE END

let's all take a deep breathe, let's think about that as always, the truth is in the middle ... MADDEN 15 will NOT blow us away, but let's be honest, it is getting better every year.

- we asked for presentation, it's been revamped
- we asked for halftime show, now we got it
- we asked that players, especially QB's, should make you feel the difference between a Manning and a Kolb when you play and it appears that now we have that.
- we now can change the camera in game, huge upgrade
- the playcalling looks great
- graphics are giving everyone the chill

i am positive about the new Madden, it will not be the best sportsgame of next year, has it been the worst last years? NO, it wasn't.

and i am not sure either if a 2k football game would be this great. think about 2k: they made a terrible MLB franchise and let that sink, don't forget about it
