MLB 14 the show on ps4 - the TURE next gen

hi everyone!

let's start by sayin that this is my first piece in this blog and i am pretty sure i will mispell a lot of words, i come from Italy and my english is not so good.

but let's go straight to the point of what i would like to discuss with you guys; what an amazing game is MLB 14 the show on play station 4.

i am totally against console war; i used to play playstation1 and then ps2, then i managed to get an xbox 360 which was the console i most utilized, and i am a "day one user" of xbox one.

couple days ago i bought the ps4 , and i am not shy to tell you guys, just to play MLB the show which is for me the killer app right now if you are into sports.

well, i was astonished.

i bought the ps3 version too (before selling the console)but i feel like this is really a different game.

the graphics are incredible!
everithing looks so damn real.

i would say that this game is on the same level as Ryse for xbox one, which is widely considered the best "next gen" game when talking about graphics and visuals.

as an example, i got watchdogs for xboxone, and compared to MLB14 looks like and old gen game.

sure but, what's the point?

my point is, when we talk about Madden25, fifa14 and others, we always say "well, this is a cross gen title, maybe just a better look of the old gen version" but reality is MLB 14 is supposed to be the same.
i mean, when a sport title is out on both consoles on the first year of both systems, you can "tollerate" some ups and downs like on Madden, or Fifa, but MLB14 is an incredible title that left me with a bitter sweet feeling in my mouth.

i am a football guy first, and i am done talking trash about the next madden every year and don't want to open a new topic about that but, MLB this year is again 3 steps ahead of the curve, making people believe that sports titles can have amazing games, graphics and gameplays with almost no compromise.

even the new short trailer of Madden (the one with Kueckly) looks already worse than the actual gameplay of MLB14.

so, that was just my opinion, and a way to get started writing on OS.

I think your English is pretty dang good! Great blog as well! The creators of The Show have sports gaming nailed and continue to impress me with every new year of the game. At first, I didn't feel that the jump from PS3 to PS4 was THAT noticeable, but then the little things started popping out to me. I feel that, especially for a sports gamer, this game makes it worth the jump to the next/current gen. Keep up the good blogging!

i can see what u mean Nwo4life75 , but i think that we all agree we are talking about a title that was already maybe the best sport game on last gen consoles by far.

yes, NBA2k14 looks very good, i love it, but it has many glitches that MLB does not have.

all in all, again, as a football guy, i hope we will se something at least similar in Madden (or the 2k game if it actually comes out)

really can't follow you on that .. i began watching baseball in '09 i guess, there was Mauer on the Cover of the show, and since i had both consoles i never thought for a minute about buyin mlb2k since having the show was fair enough so i really cannot say anything about the 2k series but as far as i remember how it went last years i guess it wasn't a good franchise
