Datsyuk and Nyquist give the Wings and extra life

Pavel Datsyuk and rookie Gustav Nyquist put the Sabres party plans on hold. The Wings held home ice and won in overtime 4-3 to put the series at 3-2.

The Sabres had a 3-1 lead midway through the 3rd period after Leino scored his 6th goal of the playoffs. With their back against the wall the Wings were looking for something. at the 12:22 mark Pavel Datsyuk would cut the lead to 3-2. almost 7mins later Pavel would tie the game.

In overtime the Wings leading goal scorer Gustav Nyquist would find the back of the net for his 11th goal of the playoffs. For Nyquist it was his 1st goal in the Cup finals.

Nyquist lead the Wings with 10 goals but couldnt find the back of the net in the cup finals. Pavels 2 goals were also his 1st of the series. The team will need both them to now step up if the Wings want to come back in the series.
