Miller and the Sabres take game 1

Ryan Miller took game 1 for the Sabres last night in Detroit. Tomas Vanek would score almost 3 mins into the game on a nice wrist shot to the blocker side of Howard. After that it was all Miller and Howard. Both goalies played outstanding in the game. Howard stopped 26 of 27 shots, but Miller was better stopping all 22 Redwing shots.

We had chances, but their goalie was great. He didnt give up alot of rebound and when he did their defense kept us away from them. We needed to get in front him more and attack their defense.

Update from todays practice. Johan Franzen a healthy scratch for most of the West Finals and Game 1 of the Cup Finals will play tonight in game 2. Jan Mursak will not play.
