Hello and welcome, "www.youtube.com/LILSPAZ57" thats my channel link please check it out and subscribe I'm LILSPAZ57 and my topic is a opinion I have on defense in video game sports. Whether it be legacy issues or just difficult programing,defense has been one of the hardest aspects to translate into video games.
Video games are made so we can have fun and play against computer AI and friends. However,for the competitive gamer defense can become frustrating. My love for basketball and basketball games becomes hate because of the lack of defense traslation found in video games. With the exception of Baseball, defense in video games is just not excecuted properly. In basketball games defensive rotations are costantly blown. Basketball is a game of runs when your playing the correct way. Defense is a very important component and is missing in todays games, blocked dunks aside, in clutch moments when I play against friends my oppopnents easily blow by me and score. In my case spin dunks and other expoits have become a gamers go to move in tight situations. Some might say just cheese them back, I say thats not basketball! If I am playing on ball Defense I should be rewarded for good D and not punished in some instances shot clock clutch shots or the now infamous eurostep jumpshots.
I have come up with a possible alternative that might help. Offensive signature skill come into play when a player heats up right,so can it be possible that a team heats up on defense for example if the team gets X amount of steals or blocks on defense. Only time will tell but thats just a thought I have. In the future I do expect a lot of block dunks to be called because of NBA2K is known for repeditive animations once implemented but this is my opinion and it remains to be seen. I do expect to hear gamers complain about how they can't dunk on anybody IMO.I do hope thats not the case in NBA2K14 and I'm hoping for a balanced fun game.
