The Redskins have signed QB Matt Gutierrez and TE Derek Schouman. Also the team has released FB Kevin Gidrey and QB Marc Verica, both of which were just camp bodies and long shots to even make the practice squad.
Gutierrez is entering his fifth season out of Idaho State. He has played for the New England Patriots, Kansas City Chiefs, Chicago Bears, and also the Omaha Nighthawks (UFL). He has played in 6 games, completing both his pass attempts.
Schouman is also entering his fifth year out of Boise State. he was drafted in the 7th-round in 2007 by the Buffalo Bills. In 25 games (starting 15), he has recorded 27 receptions for 275 yards and 1 touchdown. He also plays special teams.
