Replays should be shown during timeouts/dead balls

Ever since I started playing basketball games I've always wanted them to expand on replays during the game. The introduction of instant replays after dunks in Live in the 90's was great but it hasn't really been expanded upon until 2K came into the picture and started to show replays, not just after highlight plays, but at the end of quarters by showing baskets.

This is a great step forward, but there's still room for something I've been wanting for close to a decade now and that is:
show replays when there are dead balls.
It would be truly awesome if, for example, the ball is deflected out and there's a transition to the 2K/EA logo with the commentators saying something like "Let's go back to that play a minute ago...".

We don't really need to see the dunk we just performed replayed to us one second later. I would much rather see it after there's a dead ball of some sorts. That would feel more authentic.

I would really like if they could go back and not just show you a highlight play, but if they could show you when you played good defense, or when the CPU played good defense or similar plays.

One thing I liked about Live 10 was that they, not only showed you when the basket when in and there was a freethrow, but also if the shot was missed so you could see the foul that led to the freethrow. Since it's a game, there's not always gonna be physical contact being shown, but the feeling of TV broadcast authenticity was there at least.

Replays always take away the control from the user. In 2K10, if there was an and 1-play and I accessed the substitution menu, the replay would cut off the substitution menu so I couldn't use it. Why not have the sub menu or strategy menu as an overlay and still show the replay in teh background?

Same goes for timeouts. They could show replays and have the commentators continue to talk and I could just have my subs and strategy options as an overlay over the replay.

That's my opinion on replays anyway.

I totally agree. I think this applies to ALL sports games. Replays and highlights should be shown at various times during a break in a play. I like that idea of them talking about past key plays of the game. Id like to see out of town updates and highlights as well at some point during my games. This is immersive because this is how real sports broadcasts work.
