Fixing NBA 2K isn't hard, the game is a great title--easily the best sports game this generation (and probably ever) the game has so many great features and highlights that stand out--for example a post game that is so deep and varied that it literally defies description...and this is why the not-so-strong elements of gameplay are puzzling. No game can be perfect, we know this...but not addressing long-time issues is when you start to alienate long-time fans. As a developer, it's your RESPONSIBILITY ... Read More

Its been said many times, that you can Laugh Now--only to Cry Later...
I wasn't gonna write this, but if Chris can tell the truth (http://tinyurl.com/2wumbma) SO can I. Great read by the way, Chris...GREAT READ.
With the cancellation (lets be honest--that's what it is) of NBA Elite 11 EASports got the message of the consumer, but don't kid yourself, it wasn't for the quality issue they're preaching, they could care less about that--they made a BUSINESS DECISION based ... Read More

Well, that didn't take long.
For the record, I knew about 48 hours after the patch that it just wasn't to be. In the end it was many things, too little defense (yes--even after the latest patch) too many 30-second 80-yard drives, too many instances of playing The Saints, Colts and Jets, too many QBs completing passes from their backsides, too many broken promises, too little Fairplay, too much Donny Moore, too many nano-blitzes, too few punts on 4th down, too many 60 yard field goals, ... Well. The Day has come. The time has come for The Decision.
We've got to decide if its fruitless to expect Madden to be anything close to a playable football game for the hardcore like myself, and whether its time to pack it in. Or whether this patch has undone many of the Evils of zero defense.
To their credit EA Sports has stayed true to their 9/23 deadline. They've released an 88MB download that is supposed to address the laughable defense more than anything else. Now we ... Read More

Watching Week One of the NFL Season and then turning on my console to play Madden left me with an empty feeling. While the game is only a representation of football, its not a very good one. We've gone and on about the complete and total lack of defense in Madden 11, but here are a few other things that left us perplexed as well:
1. While broken tackles are certainly a big part of the game. FACT: I saw more broken tackles in one game in Madden than I saw all five of the games ... Read More

I've gone on the record voicing my displeasure with Donny Moore's Knee-Jerk Reaction System to rating players several times. It's the opinion of many that while you take into account a great play or even a great game, the shortest period to responsibly rate players is a four game period, or one quarter of the season. Its silly and almost child-like to give players ratings boots for one play--even a great one. It invites poor ratings first, doesn't reward consistency and invites ratings to fluctuate ... Read More

Alot of Madden fans are upset with the fact that the defense took a MAJOR step back in Madden 11. While Ian and Company have confirmed a fix is coming, we really don't have the juicy details. I applaud them for addressing our concerns, but keep in mind--an incomplete or ineffective patch is no patch at all. Also, in the spirit of community interaction and support, if there's anything you think needs adding--don't hesitate to post it in the comments. We're all in this together. Here's what we'd ... I've played Madden long enough to watch it struggle through its first year of online play (Madden 2003) when users were able to use gamesharks, quit at will and put HBs @ QB, WRs @ TE and all other manner of foolishness. A jet-packing/Mike-Vick-is-too-good controversy in 2004, the infamous juke/kickoff/fatigue glitches in 2005 and the dreaded Run-Pass Glitch in 2006 in addition to many people feeling like the next-gen later that year didn't live up to the hype of the much-celebrated Next-Gen Trailer. ...
