As much as I prefer the NCAA franchise to Madden, Madden might have one feature, that if tweaked properly, could improve NCAA gameplay even more.

If Gameflow was fixed, using GamePlanning (essentially downloading a down and distance chart) could make for even more engaging gameplay. They would have to get rid of the OC/DC's monologue though.

One more comment from me on custom playbooks. They can only be truly effective if the plays are drawn up against opposing defenses. I am not asking for the game designers to draw up play art for every play against every defense. I am asking for a base odd front (4, 0, 4) say with stacked linebackers and a base even front (5, 1, 3, 5) and a 10 tech Mike, a 30 tech Will and a 50 tech Sam. You could use to 20 tech linebackers and 2 3x2 hybrids for a 4-2-5 defense such as that of TCU.

This brings me to one of my major gripes about the game. There is a lack of "contextual assignment AI" on defense. In the real world of football (that is allegedly being represented on gaming consoles), there is a distinction between field corners and boundary corners and strongside and weakside linebackers. It would be nice to have the computer do some of the work as opposed to having to manually adjust which corners, safties and linebackers end up on which side of the defensive formation.

While I understand that the determination of strength calls takes a little time and it is therefore capable of being expolited by an "aggressive" no-huddle attack, that is one of the many beauties of real football.

To EA, great work these past few years; please fix this stuff for those of us that want a deeper and more immersive experience.
