Chicago Cubs: Time to Break the Curse
Posted on June 16, 2013 at 11:05 AM.
"Hello everyone and welcome to Cubs TV! Today we have the very own cubs writer and analyst, Mr. John Crow!"
"Thank you, thank you everyone!"
"Hello Mr. Crow, how are you today?"
"I'm doing just fine, you?"
"Doing fine as well, but lets get to why you're here. What do you think of the Cubs offseason?"
"I think it was fantastic, they got all they're key components back, although they did lose Travis Wood. Rizzo is now locked in for 7 years, and top prospects Brett Jackson, Albert Almora and Jorge Soler are signed, and they also picked up powerful catcher Jarred Saltalamachia."
"How do you think the Cubs will perform next year?
"I think they can maybe make it over the .500 mark this year. With Soler becoming a star, and Jackson's fielding and hitting skills starting to devolop, I think they're in good shape. A lot of their AA and AAA, have raised their potential this year, moving from just end of the rotation guys, to mid-rotation guys. Baez will be I think MLB ready at the end of the year as well, I think they're in good shape to break that curse."
"Thank you Mr. Crow!"
"No, thank you"
--------------------------------------------
"Mr. Epstien, what are your expectations for this year?"
"Well... every year... you win some... and you lose some, we just have to hope we win more then we lose"
--------------------------------------------
Hey guys, on to my second season I'll be updating you guys on around 75% of the games, I kind of really wanted to get through my first season, but I'm excited for this second one. Spring training will be like the MLB, if you perform well, you get the spot and all that. I will give you guys player and record updates every 5 games through spring training, although not many box scores, as I'm not looking at how many we win or lose, only who will make the MLB squad. A lot of our C potential guys have grown into B's, including MIFer Alex Yourbrough I got in the Scott Harriston trade. This season expect 30 pages on it guys--becuase it's time to break that curse.
