Jameson Taillon, the Pirates #1 prospect, is 4-0 in his first five starts with Indianapolis. In those five starts, Taillon has a 1.67ERA on twenty-two hits, while walking seventeen and striking out thirty-six.

The Pirates attempted to make a trade deadline splash, but were rejected in a deal for Hunter Pence. However, the Pirates were able to sure up their bullpen, acquiring lefty reliever Glen Perkins from the Twins.
