Pirates Rumors - Stanton, Twins, Taillon

Recently, the Pirates have had some ups and downs in production, not only from their offense, but from their bullpen as well. While they still hold a 6.5 game lead in the NL Central, the Cardinals and Reds are right on their tail.
Joel Sherman of the New York Post tweeted earlier today that the Rangers and Pirates, amongst other teams, regularly check in with the Marlins in regard to Giancarlo Stanton but are turned away each time. The decision comes straight from ownership, as Jeffrey Loria does not want to see Stanton traded.
There has been some speculation that the Pirates are considering moving Garrett Jones back to right field, if they can find a suitable first baseman. Moving Jones to right might seem to signal the end of Travis Snider, who may be used in a trade package to acquire the likes of Justin Morneau from the Twins. Rob Biertempfel of the Post Gazette has reported that the Pirates have checked in with the Twins on the availability of Morneau.
With Gerrit Cole in the MLB, Jameson Taillon has taken over as the #1 prospect in the Pirates farm system. Taillon, who was recently promoted to Triple-A Indianapolis, has gone (4-0) with a sub 2.00ERA. GM Neil Huntington recently stated that he has no plans of including Taillon in any trade package.
