With Neil Walker's injury, the Pirates turned to veterans Brandon Inge and John McDonald. But age and stamina has started playing a factor into the amount of time the two can play, putting pressure on Josh Harrison to fill the void. Harrison's performance has been less then stellar, forcing the Pirates hand to make the following move:

Recalled from AAA - Indianapolois

Jordy Mercer - With 148 at bats in AAA, Jordy Mercer has hit 4 home runs and knocked in 15 RBI's, also carrying an impressive, .964 fielding %, something Harrison has been struggling with recently.

Optioned to AAA - Indianapolis

Josh Harrison - Unable to maintain an everyday position due to fielding performance, Josh Harrison has been optioned down to AAA. In just 40 at bats with the Pirates, Harrison hit 1 home run while collecting 2 RBI's. Harrison also had 6 errors with a .778 fielding %.
