PITTSBURGH, Pa - The Pirates off day left fans scrambling for something to hold them over until Tuesday's interleague matchup against the Seattle Mariners. Luckily, they didn't have to look far as the #1 & #2 prospects, Gerrit Cole and Jameson Taillon, were both in action.

Gerrit Cole took the mound against the Scranton Railriders in Scranton. Cole ended with a line of 8 innings pitched, allowing 2 runs, on 4 hits, while striking out 7. Cole's ERA is now sitting at 2.54, as he picked up his 5th win of the season.

Jameson Taillon took the mound against Harrisburg Senators in Harrisburg. Taillon ended with a line of 6 2/3 innings pitched, allowing 3 runs, on 8 hits, while striking out 9. Taillon's ERA is now sitting at 3.17, as he also picked up his 5th win of the season.

Is it getting closer to Gerrit Cole time in Pittsburgh?
