The Pittsburgh Pirates have announced the following roster moves:

Optioned to AAA - Indianapolis

RP Justin Wilson (1-0) � Wilson struggled in his first major league stint in the bullpen. In 7.0 IP, Wilson collected a 6.43 ERA, allowing 13 hits and only striking out 3. Wilson's WHIP was 1.86.

RF Jose Tabata - Tabata started the year on the bench, basically the third option in RF, behind Garrett Jones and Travis Snider. With minimal playing time, Tabata never really found a hitting groove. In 42 at bats, Tabata collected 8 hits, with 0 home runs and 0 RBI's, amounting to a dismal .190 AVG.

Recalled from AAA - Indianapolis

RP Duke Welker (0-0) � Determined to make his first appearance in the MLB, Welker has been quite impressive in AAA to earn his way to the big leagues. In 19.0 IP, Welker collected 0.95 ERA, allowing 8 hits and striking out 12. Welker's WHIP was 0.74.

RF Jerry Sands � Sands was one of the first roster cuts in Spring Training, after coming over in the Joel Hanrahan trade, and took it personally. In 76 at bats in AAA, Sands collected 25 hits, with 3 home runs and 15 RBI's, amounting to an incredible .329 AVG.
