Week 5-bye week
I scouted big school HBs again, and finally scouted them 100%. There's this HB from Ohio State(i think) who's compared to brian westbrook who I'm interested in, since i think a recieving HB would really help my offense.

Also, i resigned rookie RT N. Wilkes to a 6 year $11.5 million contract, with a signing bonus of $5m. He's an 80/87, so my RT jordan gross might be cut this offseason or the next-I checked to make sure and i still save money if I cut him.
Also, I resigned my 5th DE Jarvis moss to a 2 year $850k deal with no signing bonus. So if i find someone better next season no harm done if he's cut.

And Alex Brink is a pretty slow learner. With 2 weeks of practice as starter, he only has 10% of the playbook learned, and no mastered plays. I guess I'll be pretty limited in play selection going into the Saints game

I lost 52-20

My defense absolutley sucked, allowing 150 yards rushing from deuce(bush got injured) and 300 passing yards from brees. I didnt allow a single punt. My rush D was good until the game was already out of reach when he ripped an 80 yard rush which boosted his ypc by 5 yards. My pass defense sucked, and both huff and hall, who are highly rated, played very poorly.
Brink played really well, except for his 3 interceptions. He actually spread the ball around, and made some clutch throws. This was against a great secondary, as the saints had signed asante samuel and drafted leodis mckelvin.

Brink 18/29 for 230 yards, TD/3 INT
Mendenhall 15/138 and a TD
Mike Bush 7/55 and a TD
Zach Miller 5 receptions for 67 yards and a TD

Calais Campbell, Elvis Dumervil-2 sacks each
Ryan Fowler-sack- he was supposed to drop back in coverage but i guess he didnt learn the play since he blitzed. not complaining since he went thru untouched and got a sack.

Ronald Curry had a kickoff return TD

I resigned starting LT Mark Wilson(86/88) to a 6 year 14.5 mil contract.

I have a little over 1mil left, so I'm only gonna resign rookie DT Booker(74/78) and maybe FS Chris Horton(78/83) and WR Braxton Legion(66/80)

Alex Brink got injured on the final practice. It turns out hes out for a few days, so he may play agains the ravens next week.

I was up 14-13 until the 4th quarter where kellen clemens absolutley tore my secondary apart. russell played bad once again, and mendenhall is really playing his *** off. however, he fumbles way too much, with another one in this game, he has 4 so far, which is 2nd place to DeAngelo William's 6 fumbles. The main problem with Mendenhall is that he gets fatigued way to easily. And while Bush is a good RB, he sucks when running on 1st/2nd and long, he piles up most of his yards by breaking tackles in short yardage situations.
Both my safeites, Horton and Huff, got burned repeadedly in the 4th quarter. both hall and washington held their own. Although I only got 2 sacks, I pressured clemens consistently, and one pressure led to a pick6 from washington, and a bunch of others led him to overthrow/underthrow wide open recievers in the middle, where the safety was supposed to zone.

Forgot to copy down stats of the Jets, but i held leon washington(jones was injured). tommy kelley is really playing good despite his rating, and is earning his money so far. and besides the 4th quarter my D played really well. I got sacked 5 times, so i think my Oline has problems against the 3-4 D, since the chargers racked up 12 sacks against me too. the other teams ive played are all 4-3, but ive been sacked very few times against those teams. the good thing is that for the most part, 3-4 seems to be easier to run on.

I upgraded my coach with OL intangibles level 1, and
the Ball Carier special skill(improves general stats of HBs) not the footwork one

I just won my game against the Ravens 14-13 i believe. Ill post the stats down tomorow night, but ill just write down what i remember. i decided to start russell since i didnt want brink to get murdered by the excellent baltimore D(drafted derrick harvey and kentwan balmer, and signed nmamdi in FA)

mendenhall yad 7.8 ypc, it was something like 18 for 118. also had a TD
i surrendered like 8 sacks, once again proving that my oline has major trouble against 3-4 teams.
campbell had 3 sacks, and i believe horton had an INT.
russel was like 4/12 with a TD and an INT
