Madden 11 Concerns
Posted on June 16, 2010 at 07:03 PM.
I don't know about anyone else but from all the videos I have seen thus far from E3...Madden just hasn't impressed me. I watched several clips and it looked exactly like Madden 10 from pregame to ingame animations - I saw nothing that made me say "cool" or get excited in the least. NCAA 11 has me much more excited from what I've seen this year..

I am a huge Madden lover so don't mistake me for a 2K fanboy - I just want to know if anyone feels the same as me about this and is kinda bummed.

Oh believe me, I absolutely love that and it's definitely the correct rating haha....just something is not drawin me in this year with Madden and I'm not happy about it

I agree with you it looks pretty much exactly like madden 10 so far, so I'm not excited bout it at all but I can't wait to get NCAA football 11.

Ya agreed I was thinking well maybe Franchise mode and Super star mode had changed from madden 10 because those are my fav modes but then the madden devs released that there were no changes to franchise but there will be for madden 2012 and they need ideas from us for franchise in madden 2012. Well first off we've been giving you ideas for these modes for the past who knows long? and they completely ignored us and now we have to wait another year for them to listen to us!? WHAT!? second off I'm just bummed that there are no changes and now I'm probably not going to buy the game, but can't wait for NCAA Football 11 those devs are doing a great job and the same as the NHL 11 devs!

Madden 11 was screwed from the minute the devs released the info that Franchise mode wasn't being updated until next year. I think it will still have big sales, but I think we are going to see a dip compared to years past.

I just think they kinda sat back this year wit the game a bit because 2012 is going to be the big EA football year. They will finally incorporate the real physics engine into the game...it is going to be in NHL and NBA this year and will be phenominal

that's a great point, but I wonder why they put so much work into NCAA 11 if that's the case...

Madden Sales go down every year because they haven't changed much since Madden 08..

back in the ps2 days they would go through two year cycles. by that i mean that madden 01 and 02 were the same game, they just touched up some things and made it a better game. 03 made some breakthroughs, and 04 touched it up and made a better game. 05 breakthrough, 06 touched it up and made the game one of the best in the series (ps2) if they were to fall into that kind of scenerio with next gen, i could live with that

I wouldn't say I'm concerned so much as slightly miffed. They really did take the anticipation away from this year and put it into next year. I know that NCAA Football 11 will be the top football game this year, which I'm completely ok with. It's gonna have the locomotion, the team styles, TeamBuilder, plus the better Dynasty/Franchise mode. That being said I hope I can lift your spirits just a little by reminding you that NCAA and Madden are running on the same engine this year. Locomotion is also in Madden, so they game will feel just like NCAA does. GameFlow might not be the most exciting of features but I like the idea of gameplans in Franchise mode. I think the gameplay itself is going to be right on par with NCAA, but the Franchise will just be slightly weaker than the Dynasty. This year will be a good chance to get a good feel for the locomotion and use GameFlow and next year, you will have your Franchise mode with it. A little let down, but I haven't given up on them yet.

Im still going to get it

i'm with you 100%. the game just doesn't offer that pop of excitement that i usually have this time of the year. i can't call what it is, but it's just not there. NCAA has me more excited than it did last year, however.

very informative post Joey - yeah i will probably still buy it but that is only because I love football so much and it's the only option. NCAA11 just seems amazing to me and that might be because I have played the demo, but I am definitely more excited for it...what is the de-cleate animation btw? just curious

I read the developers post about not adding anything to franchise mode this year. He also didnt say a thing about making Madden 12 the best franchise mode ever. Why are people saying that he did?

And back on topic...I am not pumped about Madden this year either. Take out gameflow and you have Madden 10 again.

my reservation for Madden is getting closer and closer to becoming my reservation for NHL 11
