I've been thinking about a new possible sports game franchise for a while now, and with the NCAA and EA cutting ties, I thought now would be as good of a time as any to post my idea.
What about a sports game that when you first booted it up, had ZERO teams available?
BUT, what if you could create an ENTIRE LEAGUE from the ground up. You would literally have the chance to create every single detail for up to 30 teams. (FYI, I'm talking about a basketball game, but football could be incorporated as well). You could create the NBA if you wanted to, (using the internet like EA's TeamBuilder feature, you could just Google logos and such and upload them) or you could create a completely fictional league. The possibilities would be endless with this kind of customization. You could create a huge arena that fits double the amount of people as the biggest NBA arena. You could create a college league, a high school league, whatever you want.
While the art developers would have their hands full in creating a lot of different possibilites for jerseys, courts, arenas, etc. But the Create-A-Player could be the most in-depth to date because you could upload pictures like in Tiger Woods, but you could do it for every player in the league (no need for licenses, unless you want to partner up with Google or something) and while sports developers do a great job now with gameplay, with this kind of game, gameplay would be THE primary focus because they don't have to worry about licenses, they don't have to worry about making sure a player looks absolutely correct, because that stuff is up to the gamer.
I think as we move into the next-gen, customization could be the driving force for video games as a whole.
BTW, wouldn't it be interesting to have a game that was like NBA 2K/The Sims/GTA rolled into one? Maybe that could be possible on next-gen...
Anyways, what do you guys think? Would you want a 'Create Your League' type game?

The only real problem with the whole create your league it seems possible that it could be having an identity crisis. High school games and even semi-pro basketball games are two totally different things and if you tried to do too many at once, it could be problematic.
But can you imagine GTA V with 2k basketball all wrapped into one?!? MyCareer is a really good RPG, but what about GTA RPG...
