The Miami Heat... The NBA's favorite team.
Posted on May 19, 2013 at 05:22 PM.
I noticed in Round 2 of the playoffs that the Heat/Bulls series was playing the same day as the Golden State/San Antoino series. But then right before their game 5, they got an extra day of rest, I think this also happened last year.

That wouldn't be so bad itself, but then today the Memphis/San Antonio series is starting, while the ECF don't start until Wednesday. The NBA can't say they are doing this to let Indiana rest up, because they didn't do the same thing for Memphis, who just finished off the Knicks two days ago.

So my question is, why are the Heat getting extra time off? Is it so they can let Dwyane Wade get back to 100% healthy? I don't know... but something smells fishy about this. It seems they are setting it up for the Heat to get back to the Finals. While I know that is good for their business, but wouldn't it be just as good for business if the Heat failed?

All I'm saying is, the NBA needs to stop showing special treatment to their stars, and I don't just mean the Miami Heat. But superstars should not get more calls just because of who they are. They get to the superstar level by playing by the same rules as everybody else. Why should the game be made easier for them if they are in fact so good?

On a side note, I also think it's time to raise to the goal to 11 or maybe even 12 feet, but that's a whole nother discussion that I'll talk about another time.

Thoughts, anyone?

And I'm not a Heat '*****' or whatever, these are just my observations.

They're doing it cuz the dont want the games on the same day so no Tuesday and Monday is enough rest. GAL

Man you need to do some real research instead of jumping to conclusions. The East doesn't start till Wednessday, because they setup the schedule before the Pacers and Knicks series ended. If you look the Spurs and Grizz get a three day rest after game 2 and don't play again till Saturday while the Heat and Pacers don't get more than one day in between their games the rest of the series.

The NBA makes sure to give each team the same amount of time off between series.

Then why did the Heat get an extra day of rest in Round 2?

They played game 4 on the 13th and then game 5 on the 15th. They got an extra day between games 3 and 4, but the Pacers and Knicks and the Grizz and Thunder both had the same break between games.

Okay, I went back and looked and I was wrong about the schedule, my apologies.

BUT I still stick by the fact that they are treated better by the refs, I think they are in David Stern's pocket because he thinks it for some reason is good to have them in the Finals every year. And yeah, they do have a good team, but the Pacers, Grizzlies, and Spurs are much more balanced from top to bottom, so I'll definitely be watching the officiating closely.

PS. Why is the word 'h a t e r' blocked? I was trying to say I was NOT one, this is just what I've obsrved...

After watching the first half tonight, it is almost too obvious.

Almost every foul I've seen called on the Pacers was a soft, touch foul. Then the two technicals called on Sam Young and Hansbrough. What exactly did Sam Young do wrong? Plenty of people slap the ball out of the other player's hands after the whistle. What did he do?!? Did he talk back to LeBron? And then Hansbrough barely touches Wade, and he pulls off an acting job worse than what Paul Pierce does every night. Not to mention, Hansbrough was trying to help him up, and then gets called for a technical. You can't tell me the NBA isn't rigged for the Heat to win... it's too obvious now.
