First and foremost, do not let animations control the game. Y'all advertise so many animations, but only a few of the same animations play out over and over again.
Controls
-Go back to the dunk controls from 2K11. Move shot stick at basket for sig dunk, away for reverse or spin(which includes baseline, enough with the pointing the stick towards the baseline), right for hang dunk, left for hop step. It's just easier that way. Same goes for layups obviously.
-Don't have the 'rock the ball' back and forth. That should be used for quick set up dribbles like the in and out, crossover, spin, etc. The way it's set up now, you can't do quick moves like what D. Rose, CP3, or John Wall do.
-Pressing Y or X shouldn't result in a foul EVERY TIME in the post. With that being said, the animations where no one is touched and it's a foul and then when someone is knocked to the ground and it's not, seriously need to be reversed.
-Don't let the ball handler automatically change dribbling hands, that should be controlled. They also shouldn't always throw the ball out ahead of themselves on a fast break, double tap RT should be to throw the ball ahead of yourself.
Defense
-Get rid of the icy feel it has to it. Feels like hockey more than basketball. I think it was 2K9 or 2K10 that had the 9 sections, you could choose which side to play him and how close to the ball handler. THAT was perfect.
-Help defense as it is, is God-awful. My players help out at the most idiotic times. I didn't call for a double-team but my teammates think it would be wise to leave Ray Allen to double up on Jermaine O'Neal. They switch for NO REASON. And why is it that the PG ALWAYS runs to the middle of the lane on fast breaks and from there on for that possession, no one is guarding the right person. I could understand if my SG were guarding their SF and vice versa. But it ends up being my PG on a C, SG on a PF, PF on a PG, SF on a SG, and C on a SF. WHY?!?!?!
Offense
-People have been raving about the play calling and it is pretty good, but my Lord, why are there sooo many plays where you just stand there and dribble at the top of the key forever??? Not every possession goes for 20 seconds of the shot clock.
-A simpler way, instead of when you call a play for someone, having to flip through 4 pages of plays (because let's face it, you have 24 SECONDS), press LB to have the players button come up, and then choose from whatever options he has (3PT, Mid-range, Cutter, etc.) and have it choose a random play for that type of play. Ex. If I choose Kobe the options should come up, Y- Mid range, X post up low, B Iso, and A post up high. Then it would choose a random play from the playbook that matches what I wanted.
-When I call for a pick and roll, the big man should ROLL. 'Nuff said.
-CPU teammates should jump for offensive boards, I find them just standing there most of the time reaching for the ball without jumping. CPU teammates should also box out, which I have yet to see.
-Passing needs a COMPLETE overhaul.
Random
-The game still has instances of quick, spastic type movements.
-The AI still has the force field type feel to it on defense.
-The AI's offense is idiotic. Greg Oden just did an escape dribble jumpshot on me from right inside the three-point line, and obviously missed it. They regularly wait til the shot clock gets down to 1 or 2 seconds to shoot and they are usually horrible quality shots.
-Every player should not have access to every type of shot. Not everyone should be able to do a spin shot, escape dribble shots, etc.
TEAMBUILDER
-This way, we can get all of the legends teams, players, etc that we want!
Cosmetics
- Ability to edit color of headbands instead of them being automatic
--With that being said, I want to see a screen similar to NCAA Football and Madden before games, a long with choosing which jersey your team wears, you should be able to choose headband color, arm accessories color, leg accessories color, sock color, and choose home or away shoes.
That way, we don't have to go in and edit players before EVERY game, and on the edit player screen, you just choose WHAT accessories he can wear and before games you can have whatever color you want. Saves time and we can get more games in that way.
- Ability to edit jersey fit (loose or tight) and short length (60's short shorts, 90's short shorts, baggy)
- In CAP, fix the current list of hairstyles or add more, because they look terrible. How about having it actually LOOK like hair. Make it 3D like EA did with the grass in their football games, it should MOVE. (Not to mention, this was in 2K7)
- Ability to use current players tattoos instead of the ones that are in CAP now, those are truly terrible. I'd rather have the ability to use some of LeBron's tats then the ones on the current CAP list
- Ability to wear socks underneath ankle braces, it was in last year, don't know what's wrong with it this year
- More Reebok and Adidas shoes
Association
-Ability to relocate teams, change colors, mascot, etc.
-Ability to start an expansion team.
-For the first two, you could incorporate an online feature so that you could go in and design a logo, court, arena, arena name, etc.
-Have current draft pick trades in place (for example if Charlotte trades their 2015 pick in real life to Chicago, then in 2015 when the draft comes up in Association, they should have that pick).
That's all I can think of for now, any thoughts?

Yeah, that's true. The next, next-gen models will be out fairly soon and maybe they won't be as big a disappointment as this gen has been for me. Not that all of the games are horrible, not saying that, I guess I was just over-hyped and was expecting more.
Back to topic, I'm all for the right analog stick being used for dribbling instead of the shot stick. Just have us use X and the LS as our 'shot stick' because the left stick could still be used once the player is in the air to adjust the shot.
I agree with the crowd atmosphere too bro, I thought it was great in Live 10 and with 2K it is drastically overlooked.

Totally agree with that. But first, the basics :"Passing needs a COMPLETE overhaul."

I think the x button and Lstick is a good idea as well. The controls have to be revamped in order for me to purchase another nba2k game, rather it be this gen or next.

I agree with everything said here. 2k11 even with its mistakes was such a better game than 2k12. The ice skating on defense is attrocious from a sim game as the ice skating typically ties into one team having "momentum".
The passing engine is complete garbage. Has been for years but has gotten progressively worse as 2k has taken the control of the game away from us. There was a time in which I can control when I threw a bounce pass. Now I have to hope the CPU chooses the right animation so the ball does not float in front of the defender. Horrible and inexcusable from 2k. If this was an EA product, the forums would lite them up for this trash.
Defense has taken a major step backward this year. The AI is completely clueless on how to play basketball at times, much less defensive basketball. Again, this is inexcusable considering how close 2k11 was to getting it right. On defense you already know if your opponent is driving to the basket and the cameras start flashing in the crowd....ITS A BUCKET. What a joke!

Playbooks particularly custom one should be transferable between xboxes, I mean if I wanted to go over my friends house and play on his console it would be nice if I can load my playbook into his xbox and execute my plays via usb, but it does not affect his playbook as well!
Include popular retirees and inactives like Allen Iverson, Rasheed Wallace, Charles Barkley, Reggie Miller etc. so you can access them as well as have any old school player (Jordan, Bird, The Dream on current teams if you want!
Dunk Contest like 2k11, that was the best configuration!
Team settings transferable too, (Coach Profiles)
Controlled passing, choose to bounce or straight!
True speed and strength variance between strong, speedy, weak and slower players!
Technical fouls, emotional reaction to certain calls!
Stop playing 2K and do what you do best! Oh yes and bring on NFL 2k13!!!

I agree with passing and the CPU rebounding, as well as the help D. The AI is just idiotic, imo, overall, but is worst when it comes to the CPU teammates.
I was also thinking the same about automatic dribbling hand switch and a few other things but the bottom line, to me, is that I don't think the fixes many of us would desire will come this gen, so 2K gets somewhat of a pass, from me. One thing that bothers the ish out of me is the crowd reactions. LAME! Live 10 KILLED IT when it came to that but 2K is very weak with that.
Anyway, I think we can forget most of what we want for next year. Maybe with the new Xbox and PS we can finally get it all. We also have to appreciate what is already there. The game is strong...
