Fixes that 2K12 NEEDS

Defense:

Why does it feel like we are on ice while the CPU can quickly change direction. My players keep sliding even when I react at the right time and the CPU just runs right on past.

Help defense is God-awful. My players help out at the most idiotic times. I didn't call for a double-team but my teammates think it would be wise to leave Ray Allen to double up on Jermaine O'Neal. They switch for NO REASON. And why is it that the PG ALWAYS runs to the middle of the lane on fast breaks and from there on for that possession, no one is guarding the right person. I could understand if my SG were guarding their SF and vice versa. But it ends up being my PG on a C, SG on a PF, PF on a PG, SF on a SG, and C on a SF. WHY?!?!?!

Controls:

Why is it that the controls do not do what they are told to do? If I want to attempt a Euro step, then attempt a EUROSTEP. If I want a a turn around hook, don't have my player jump into a contact CANIMATION shot.
PASSING SUCKS, I can't even get into that, it just needs a complete overhaul.
For God's sake, please get rid of all ridiculous canimations that play out over and over and over and over and over.........
Get rid of the game changing my players shot when anyone is within 3 feet, I'll decide if I want to change my shot or not, If I don't change the shot, then they shouldn't change their shot, they should just go up strong.

Offense:
People have been raving about the play calling and it is pretty good, but my Lord, why are there sooo many plays where you just stand there and dribble at the top of the key forever??? Not every possession goes for 20 seconds of the shot clock.

By the way, can we not get a Game Style where they completely get rid of game sliders and the game plays based ONLY on player attributes and tendencies???

I have another blog entry for things that weren't done well with 2K12. I just hate being told how great this game is and then it only plays out great 1 time for every 10 times I play it. I just want a game to play well every time, especially if I pay $65 for it. Personally, I think the demo played smoother.

I really wish that they fix the passing. I'm don't want them to go back to the days of every long pass or oop going for a dunk but something has to be done. Maybe they can increase the ball speed, something. Also please fix the pick and roll. I the guy cant set the scream when I dribble by then he shouldn't just stand there, roll. Also the my player reward/penalty point system needs to be changed. What happened to the bonus points for getting a double double and getting negative points because the guys I passed couldn't catch the open pass is crazy. The game is awesome though. Hands down best basketball game I've ever played, just not perfect.

The game is a definitive upgrade from last year to me, but there are still some of the same issues recurring. I feel like there are certain players who, just based on speed, strength and skill, are virtually unguardable 1 on 1. LeBron and D Rose quite often don't even have to use crossovers, spins, etc. They just blow right by the dude with speed and power, unless you have a double waiting. I never get that feeling in this game, like getting an iso with a stud wing player is a huge advantage. It's roughly the same dribble moves for everyone, and it's much tougher to round the corner than it should be with a baller. I should (almost) never be able to stop LeBron in a 1 on 1 iso without help.

The passing definitely needs tuning as well, I agree about having a little more zip on the ball. I would really love to see a madden-style, pressure sensitive passing control, where bullet passes and pass accuracy attributes are really noticeable when you're using CP3 or Steve Nashty. I liked last year's game much more after the "big" patch, so I'm holding on to the hope that the patch, along with the roster update, make a big difference. Don't get me wrong, I still like the game, but little frustrating stuff like that should be ironed out.

Also, will there ever be a sports game where I don't constantly feel cheated by the Cpu? The loose balls, rebounds, deflections, and of course, shot %s are flat out laughable to me at times, especially if I'm somehow in the lead late in the game. I don't want to have to handicap the CPU via the sliders to feel I'm getting a fair shake, but that's just me.

I really wish your my player would import from game to game. Two years in a row I had my guy at the top of the league only to start from the bottom again. This year isn't so bad because you start around 25 points higher. But it still would be nice.

McGee, I agree partially. You'd have to sag way off those elite wings to stop them 1 on 1, which leaves the J wide open. I hate how I frequently get a Tony Parker vs Greg Oden mismatch and Parker can't blow by him, especially when the floor is well spaced.

I love this game. I definitely agree with the OP on the defense and his later comment on the momentum. I think that is cause and affect, the momentum is a bit overdone in my opinion. I am not a professional athlete, I do play basketball, I'm 38 years old and I can switch directions and stay in control something these video renditions of professional athletes seem unable to do. I don't want to see a drastic change but if they could back down the momentum just a bit I think it would be right on.
