I've had it with 2K12.
They went overboard with controls this year. I know people want "total control" and all that crap, but it gets ridiculous when there are so many controls and when you think you are doing one thing and the game does something else.
Example: tried to do a simple crossover, my PG did a hesitation move and then a crossover, dribbled it off of Baron Davis' knee an turned it over. Another example, told OJ Mayo to do a right handed layup, he did a reverse dunk over PAU GASOL and ANDREW BYNUM. Looks cool... would never freaking happen.
The CPU cheats. At halftime the Lakers had 9 steals, 5 off of entry passes to the post. My guard threw a little fairy pass to the post, got picked off every time. The also had 8 blocks, 4 were from MATT BARNES, one of which was a Blake Griffin dunk.
They are given superhuman strength and hypnotic awareness. Ron Artest cannot drive past Steve Blake because Blake muscled him back. Blake Griffin can't drive past Pau Gasol because he morphs into place.
Not to mention there was absolutely nothing done to Association. The left the door wide freaking open to EA Sports in my mind, can't wait to see what they come up with after a 2 year cycle.

@clipperfan, you basically read my mind. I do the exact same thing when the passing gets on my nerves. I just can't take it so I turn it off and I take my frustration out either on other people in CoD or Batman: Arkham City haha. But yeah, I love the post game, but there are parts of it that do seem unfinished. Nothing done to Association is a turn off and the fact that the CPU can make me change shots on almost every layup while I hardly ever can change theres.
And is it just me, or should they just call the Y button the 'Foul Button?'

Lol at some that defend this game like its God..
This game have tons of flaws
1.Player reaction and movement is very SLOW..I turn brain dead when there's a lose ball on the floor. Not only the CPU but the USER as well..it feel like there's force fields holding me back.
2. REBOUNDING, there is rarely a over the back call, and when its called its on a player that wasn't even near the ball...
The ball rolling on body parts while I'm reaching for the rebound only for it to roll off my back out of bounds..
PUT BACK DUNKS BY PLAYERS WHO HAVE 30 VERT RATINGS..ZACK RANDOLPH JUMPING LIKE DWIGHT HOWARD FOR PUT BACK DUNKS..
3. FOULS are inconsistent meaning I can get knocked to the floor on a layup or post move which clearly looks like a flagrent..but on the other end i get called a shooting foul on a perfectly contested shot.
4. Dump dunk choice when players are trailing you on a fast break to get it blocked..
I KNOW UP ON THE STICK IS STANDARD OR SIGNATURE...RIGHT IS POWER...LEFT FOR FLASH...BACK FOR REVERSE..
but they still expose the ball to get blocked by doing windmills or **** back dunks..
5. If ur a gaurd under 84 you will be ripped easy by a Rondo or Wade etc etc..this is supposed to be the pros ..SOME ONE PLEASE SHOW ME A GAME WHERE MIKE CONLEY GETS STRIPPED AND RIPPED WITH EASE LIKE HE IS A JV PLAYER..
And there's many more plus the lack luster game modes...association up touch and a step backwards in my book..My player will get extremely boring come February...The GREATEST MODE..done by December..DLC don't even know if it will be functional with the retail online shot up...
Its strange how some hate to say the truth about there beloved 2k12...I use to be the say way but 2k drooped the ball this year..

The controls on 2k12 are good. Everything is smooth. The shooting feels good and the dribbling feels nice. I don't have any problems with passing. The passing seems ok to me. Since it is a game, and I am not perfect, I expect to make mistakes and throw bad passes. It's all in fun. Just play the game and enjoy.

To each his or her own but the consistent complaining is more annoying than anything I have encountered in the game. I am sure when Live comes back next year it will be a very simple game to just pick up and play and that will be good for us real ballers. Listen brother, I have yet to learn every single move in NBA 2K11, I simply play NBA ball which is finding hot spots and areas of the court in which each player operates best then learn the moves that he may need from that spot. People crying about controls, I don't get it. This is why competition is so good. All these random complaints about 2K will go away next year when you have something to compare it to.

i played all 2k games since dreamcast days. i own 2k9 - 2k12 on pc. 2k games keep improving each year.
like one person said, it all comes down to your personal preference. 2k11 is good but, personally 2k12 is way better than 2k11 for these reasons:
-more legend teams and players. i love to play as the classic teams of yesteryears vs the current nba teams. i wish there will be more legend teams coming as dlc's. i badly need the 1993 phx suns with chuck barkley pit against the best teams of today.
-the controls are perfect for me. passing is just okay and i love the new function for the Y button. this is actually the big draw to me because i never get to do these post moves i wanted to perform in 2k11.
-yes fouls are inconsistent. some fouls are not called ($#*@!) and some of your good defense are mistakenly called fouls, just like in the nba. blame the refs for that lmao
-earlier legend players now wear real short shorts and tight jerseys like the real players wore back then, unlike in 2k11.
-funnily, 2k12 is the only 2k game that makes me like to really play 12 minute, full 4 quarters, on pro/default settings and i'm still itching for more idk why lol
-in my gameplaying years, i can honestly say 2k12 is the greatest basketball game i ever played right now. it's hard to go back 2k11 man. that's my opinion.

It sounds like you are playing 2k12 like it's 2k11 and suffering because of it. You should give it more time.

How could you want to go back to 2k11 12 is 100000 times better than 2k12. I think your making a bad decision going back to 2k11.

@TheRealHST I know the sticks, been playing 2K for a long time now, they just feel unresponsive at times to me.
@mjbird123... I explained it in the blog.
For everyone wondering, I was venting because all of these issues were pissing me off. I'm going to give it some more time, but if a patch doesn't fix these issues then I will probably end up playing Battlefield until next year and see how 2K13 and Elite/Live 13 are.

At the same time I hate the delayed passing so much that I turn off more games than I finish. I feel like I'm playing an unfinished game. I also played so much of 2k11's franchise mode that I find myself bored with essentially the same mode.
Oddly enough I've been enjoying online games more than previous 2k games. I love how it's so hard for people to abuse the game. The live ball turn reckless driving through traffic into easy steals and it seems like everything (including the 3's everyone is complaining about) defensible.
As far as people on the fence: Just stick it out with 2k11 at least until a patch comes out. Be warned once you get a taste of some of the improvements to 2k12, 2k11 is very difficult to go back to.
