The NFL's leading rusher, Tim Hightower, was completely shut down this week versus the Eagles. David Garrard engineered the 12th 4th quarter comeback of his career with a 4th and 10 completion to Fred Davis for a TD. Vince Young had a great day in Vick's absence, but it just was not enough. Roy Helu's TD steak ended. He had 5 TD's in 4 games but he did not find the endzone in this game. The redskins have the 2-4 Carolina Panthers next week and should be able to take car of them pretty handily.
Im too lazy to make a box score so i will just recap the important stuff. Well it was another dominating performance by the Redskins. They ran for 157 and threw for 151 oppsed to the rams 58 and 104, respectivly. Garrard had a perfect QB rating going 11/13 206 2 TD. Hightower was a workhorse on the ground again with 17 carries for 128 yards and 2 TD. Roy Helu is proving to be a TD machine as he has 5 TD this season in a backup role. Santana moss had 102 recieving yard and a TD. Fred Davis, the redskins leading reciever, had 96 recieving yards and a TD. The skins D forced 5 fumbles and recovered 2 of them. The redskins keep doing things right an are undefeated so far. they have a bye and then play the hated eagles. should be a great game!
THe redskins played the Cowboys and absoloutly destroyed them. Garrard threw for 3 TD and Hightower added to his league lead in rushing with 124 yards and a TD. Anthony Armstrong beat the defense twice on to TD catches of over 60 yards. Overall it was a dominating performance and now the skins play the Rams and they will look to head into the bye week undefeated.
The Redskins stayed at home this week to host the Arizona Cardinals. The game got off to a slow start with no team scoring until a 2nd quarter TD run by Roy Helu. The second half was completely one-sided as the Redskins dominated in winning 31-7. Tim Hightower carried the load once again with another 175 yard performance. OJ Atogwe forced 3 turnovers including his league leading 3-4 interceptions. He also forced a fumble that was recovered by Rocky McIntosh. David Garrard was pulled after throwing his 4TH interception of the game. John Beck looked shaky while he was in there and now the Skins are looking for a quarterback to fill the void for another 8 weeks until Grossman is back behind center. Next week the Skins are in prime time on Monday Night to play their arch rival Cowboys.
Started up a franchise with my skins tonight. made a few trades to get DRC from Philly and Jason Pierre paul from NYG.
Both offenses struggled in the first half and the redskins came alive in the 4th quarter with 14 points and earn the first win of the season. OJ Atogwe was huge in intercepting 2 passes on the day including one in the endzone. Rex Grossman is out for 10 weeks so the skins picked up David Garrard from FA to fill the role for the next 10 weeks.
In the first game of the season the defense pitched a shutout and only allowed 154 yards of offense. The Chargers had a major contribution from Ryan Mathews who rushed for over 100 yards. The Chargers have to go to New England to play the Patriots next week.
The nationals found themselves down by 5 going into the bottom of the 2nd but Ian Desmond provided a spark by hitting a 3 run HR and a solo shot in the 8th. He ended the game going 3/5 4 RBI 3R. Jayson Werth also helped with 2 RBI and a HR. Marquis went 6.1 innings allowing 1 run on 5 hits.
Stephen strasburg was coming off of a fractured ulna and was out 6-8 weeks. He came back not missing a beat pitching a complete game. The race between the NL East is close. This was game one of the 3 game series.
