A little sonnet

Discovery

Roses are red, violets are blue,
The fact has been known for hundreds of years.
Though people back then, had not a clue
How things look the way they appear.

Maybe they did not have the mind to think?
Or maybe they just completely ignored it
Before they knew it, time had passed in a blink
The problem is now solved with wit.

Why can birds fly freely in the sky?
Why do stars always blink their eyes?
Why living things all have to die?
Why? Why? Why are there so many Whys?

The answers, my friend, are all out there
For you to discover, for you to be aware.

Good message... it's not iambic pentameter proper, but it does have rhythm and obviously 14 lines... it's solid.

It's just something I wrote for school that I decided to share, I would like to have the cool iambic pentameter effect, but it's just too hard for me. Maybe I'll edit it later to change it into the real Shakespearen form.
