1. LED Dynamic Lighting= This graphical upgrade is what made next gen NBA 2k14 one of the most, if not the most stunning visual masterpiece of a video game to this date. In that game, each and every arena from legend to modern day arenas have their own specific lighting. Just look at the scoreboards, the lights are dynamic and showcase reflection. 2k even went as far as measuring the color temperature for each light, counting the number of lights, and contacting the manufacturers of the lights. If 2k did this to 30 NBA arena, it should be a lot easier to do the same for WWE arenas as they don’t have to travel and dissect 30 different arenas. They could get information from the WWE’s single production team. Basically, we might be able to see a more realistic take on the reflectivity of Randy Orton’s baby oil and actual lighting in a WWE game ffs.
2. The 2k Head Scan Treatment= 2k’s head scanning for next gen NBA 2k14 is impeccable. Nearly every player in the NBA was head scanned by 2k. Nearly EVERY player out of the 300+ people in the NBA was head scanned….. Now, if you’re not impressed by that, there is something wrong with you. Not only was it just any normal head scan, they captured everyody’s facial expressions for specific moments ranging from your typical dunk face to winning the championship. I can see this as well as the lighting to be a sure thing in WWE 2k15. When you think about, it’s gonna be twice as easy for 2k to scan every wrestler because they are all mostly together unlike the NBA players whom they had to find in their summer homes. Plus, there are tons of more NBA players than wrestlers while wrestlers tend to be more media friendly so they might even add in better details. With this feature in the game, we could well be seeing a photorealistic people’s eyebrow and Triple H scowl.
3. Smoother Body Molds= I don’t know if it’s just me or do the polygons in WWE 2k14 stick out like a game from 2005. Now look at next gen NBA 2k14 where 2k recreated each and every millimeter of the players. That game compared to its cg version had a massive difference unlike every other next gen game. Considering that 2k had 2 years to make WWE 2k15, I expect nothing but greatness. They really need to look above more polygons and higher texture resolution and just rebuild and upgrade the structure entirely. In all seriousness, no one wants to see SVR 07 have more realistic wrestlers than a 2014 game.
4. Sweat= Yes, another thing incorporated in next gen NBA 2k14. It would really be awesome though especially with the lighting adding up to it. In addition, sweat should leave stains on the mat while the water should have fluid physics.
5. Larger Material Library= We need to get an actual view on the technical side of the WWE presentation. When wrestlers battle it out on the announcer’s table, we don’t just see 1 water bottle and a laptop, we see papers flying all over the place and dozens of wires getting tangled up. The same should go all over the area. We should be able to see a wire or too running down to the areas on the side of the stage with computers all over the place. Also, it would be cool to see a proper ring announcer area for once.
6. Tech guys, Camera Men, and Announcers= For years now, I have been waiting for a feature where in game, we see tech guys, camera men, and the announcers chilling in their respective spots. To illustrate, I want to see either Josh Roberts or Lillian sitting in the ring announcer area. I want to see tech guys by the stage area on a computer or running down to the announcer table with new papers just in case the announcers papers get all messed up. I want to see 2 or 3 camera guys running around the ring doing their jobs of course. As of the announcers, they just need to look more realistic and act like it too. Announcers should be seated until a wrestler is about to set up the table spot in which they will stand up and keep a safe distance of course.
7. Better Camera Angles= I am getting sick and tired of this same lame camera angle from all the away outside the ring. We should be able to choose whether it is in ring, skybox, or even announcers view. I also recommend that camera angle changes should be more consistent. Most of these transition should happen during times where it won’t disrupt the player. Some examples, are transitions during submissions, when all the wrestlers are down, when one wrestler is coming up, when the player does nothing for a while, in the middle of a grapple, and during holds. Another thing I suggest are zoom-ins. Zoom-ins should be done at specific times where wrestlers show emotion or are doing something massive. Some timings for zoom-ins are during wake-up taunts, taunts, certain facial expressions, when they do their voice overs, during submissions, when a wrestler is distracted, when a wrestler is knocked out, when both wrestlers are down, when a wrestler is on a high-spot, in the middle of a grapple, face-offs, or in the middle of a finisher.
8. Real Time Camera Men= As I stated earlier, I requested for camera men to be existent during matches. Well, not only do I want them to be visible, I want them to actually run to their accurate spots whenever there is a change of camera angle. To add to that, they should also get also be aware and be tangible of their surroundings. When a wrestler gets closer outside the ring, they should start running towards them or when a wrestler falls over the top rope and lands on him, the camera man should get injured. Another cool addition would be while the camera man moves, the camera shakes.
9. Better Commentary= This one is very, very obvious. Just compare the commentary in WWE 2k14 to NBA 2k14. It's a shame and it should be improved on. WWE 2k commentators should be calling moves, telling interesting stories, and explaining facts like NBA 2k commentators.
10. Wrestler/Ring Sounds= WWE 2k14 had fantastic improvements in voice overs and impact sounds. I expect nothing less this year. I expect the voice overs to be more vivid and impact sounds to be more varied. I would particularly add in match sounds for landing on steel, landing outside the ring, table crashes, and foreign object shots. Another cool feature would be for the noises to be louder depending on the distance to the camera and how well executed a move is.
11. More Chants= This one is pretty obvious. I recommend the chants “Goldberg’ chants for Ryback, “We Want insert wrestler” chants, “the wave”, “ECW’ chants, “JBL, JR, Cole, Jerry” chants, “Change the Channel” chants, chants for wrestlers not in the ring, “We Want Divas” chants, “You Both Suck” chants, “Cena Swallows” chants, “End This Match” chsnts, “Holy Sh!t” chants, and the classic “Boring” chants. Of course, a bunch of other funny chants exist too, not just these.
12. Crowd Posters/Signs= This is another thing about the crowd that should be improved on as well. I find the lack of crowd signs deductive from the experience. I expect there to be fans holding up letters that spell out their favorite wrestlers name or slogan, larger sized posters like the classic “If Punk loses, we riot” sign, interactive signs like “The People’s Eyebrow” poster, and maybe we can have those rare shirtless fans with letters on their shirts that spell out their wrestler’s name. Another plus would be if there were zoom ins on these signs during that wrestler’s entrance.
13. Crowd Intelligence= An actual ai for the crowd would be an awesome feature. Adding in random chants doesn’t count. When I say crowd ai, I mean a crowd that can analyze the intensity of a match. During a match that’s only getting more intense, the crowds would gradually get louder as crowd commotion increases. During a match that only gets boring, the crowd would be quiet.
14. Crowd Vividness and Commotion= They need to make it seem like there are different dimensions in the crowd ranging from trolling fans to women Cena fans. To add to this, the crowd needs to be crisper and more vivid. This way, those other dimensions of the crowd I spoke of should be noticeable to an extent. For instance, a fan could screaming ‘You suck Cena!!” should pop up on random moments. It should also be noted that when wrestlers are near the crowd, these random comments should be more apparent.
15. Crowd Reactions to Holy Sh!t Moments= It really boggles me when the crowd in WWE 2k14 doesn’t even react to table spots or aren’t loud enough. Whenever things like this happen in the game, I expect a loud “Ohhhhhhh’ from the crowd and maybe a random guy screaming “HOLY SH!T!!!” for sh!ts and giggles. I suggest some actual reactions for other moments too like going head first to the post, landing on steel steps, object shots, landing on chairs, late match near falls(especially near falls), and etc… On the more specific side, I would like for there to be different levels for this…
Level 1- head-first to the post, kendo stick/steal chair/etc… shots
Level 2- landing on anything steel, surprise finishers, late-match near falls
Level 3- catching finishers, any ladder-related spot, table spots, OMG moments
16. Crowd Movements= Yes chants… Fans jumping out of their seats after near falls… Fans covering their face in shame after their favorite wrestler loses. All of these are powerful movements the crowd regularly does that makes a match feel even more intense. Plenty of sports games have done to an extent, it should be the same for wrestling games.
17. Better Crowd Models= Just look at the crowd in next gen NBA 2k14, the crowd looks close to the player models in current gen NBA 2k14 so this theory should also apply in WWE 2k15. I would also recommend that front row crowds should look a tad more realistic and noticeably active.
18. Crowd Interactivity= If we had the ability to take items from crowd members in the last few WWE games, the crowd has potential to do more subtle but realistic actions. For instance, when a wrestler is near a barricade, fans behind him should start going nuts, get louder, and pat him in the back. Another example for when wrestlers are near the barricade is for fans to be able to scream something to the wrestlers whether it’s heckling or acknowledgement. Fans screaming you suck” or “Let’s go insert name” would create immersion.
19. Sounds and Actions of Anticipation/Ovation= Next game, I want to see the crowd show excitement for what is to come or show ovation from such an incredible match. I want to see times in WWE 2k15 where the crowd jumps on their feet when someone is in the initial position of their finisher or ladder and/or table spot. As of ovations, it would be great to see in the beginning of large scale matches that fans would be on their feet and getting ready for a showdown. Sound-wise, it would be awesome to finally get the ‘wooooooaaaaaaaaaah” chants while setting up a crazy spot or in the initial of a crazy spot.
20. Crowd Volume/Activity in Select Arenas= What better way to make fan immersion than by creating diversity in each arena. Crowd Volume and Crowd Activity should range from 50-100. The higher the Crowd Volume, the higher the crowd volume(duh) and louder reactions. With higher Crowd Activity, the crowd should have more commotion, more interactivity, give out more ovations, and have more signs. My main suggestion would for us to choose or even create a particular arena with specific Crowd Volume and Crowd Activity Ratings. I don’t care what cities they would add in as long as places like Chicago, New York, and Toronto have high ratings.
21. Smark Territory/Hometown= To add in to my previous idea, smark territories and hometown specifications would be the icing on the cake. If yu didn’t know what smark territories are, they are particular arenas that are dominated by smarks. Smarks are wrestling fans who are more passionate and pride themselves to appreciate wrestling talent more than your typical casual fan. So basically, I would recommend a Smark Territory Rating for each arena ranging from 50-100. The higher the Smark Territory Rating, the more trolling chants and the louder they will be for wrestlers with high “Smark Reputation”. I’ll talk about “Smark Reputation” for wrestlers and how they can gain it in The “MySuperstar” and “MyPromotion” modes which I will go DEEP into detail of so stay tuned my friends. As of hometowns, there should basically be more signs/posters and chants for the hometown hero as well as a 25% boost in Smark Reputation, Crowd Volume, and Crowd Interactivity for when that wrestler is active.
