Despite 20 Turnovers, Wizards outlast Boston by 3, 108-105

Coming off a frustrating and difficult road loss to the Hornets, the Wizards looked impressive on the road against the East's #1 team, the Boston Celtics.

Washington commanded control throughout the first half, leading 58-43 at halftime. At one point the Wizards were up by 20 pts in the 2nd qtr.

The third qtr would finish with the Wizards still maintaining the lead. However, Boston would cut it down to 8 after a 30 point performance in the 3rd.

The 4th qtr the Wizards were able to maintain a lead throughout most of the quarter up until the 2:00 mark where the Celtics were able to tie the game much in part to a maginificent 4th qtr performance by KG.

Under two minutes Caron Butler was able to come up w/ his 1st steal of the game, and it couldn't have come at a better time. Butler through the oulet pass out to Javaris Crittenton, and Crit took it in for a dunk in transition which would break the tie and put the Wizards up.

Another great defensive possesion would result in Boston having to fould Caron Butler, and send him to the line...Caron was 8-8 at that point. His first shot was a miss, but Caron would nail the second one to go up by 3 w/ 1.5 seconds left.

Interim HC Alex Gooden called for Dixon, Butler, McGuire, Blatche, and McGee to provide defense on this final possession. If it went to Allen, Butler would be on him, or if it went to Pierce, McGuire would be able to get a hand in the face to alter the shot. The inbounds went to Pierce who was a good distance away from the line...the result...nothing but air.

Wizards win in dramatic fashion!

Notes From the Game:

Javaris Crittenton made his first start of his career, and his first for the Wizards and quickly got the Wizards on the board w/ two drives to the hoop resulting in 2 fouls and 4 points.

Crit would play 35 minutes on his way to a double double w/ 17 points, and 12 assists on 6-12 shooting from the field, and 5-5 from the FT line; he also added a steal, & only contributed to 4 of the Wizards 20 turnovers.

Perhaps his biggest moments thus far in his young career came when both Butler and Jamison were still resting w/ 4:00 left to play and Crittenton would make two consecutive shots to put the Wizards back up by 6 late in the 4th.

As for the rest of the Wizards:

Caron turned in another 30 point performance. Although, he didn't have quite as good of a night shooting as he did in NO going 10-26. However, his 9-10 shooting from the FT proved to be the difference maker. He also finished w/ 5 rebounds, 3 assits, and a block and a steal.

Another double double for Jamison on an OUTSTANDING night for him. Antawn went 11-12 for 24 points - his only missed shot was one of the two 3's he attempted. Jamison added 11 boards, 4 assists, 4 steals, and 2 blocks. TERRIFIC!

The only other players in double figures were Stevenson and McGee. McGee finished w/ 12 & 9, and DeShawn w/ 10pts, 3reb, 4ast, & 2 steals.

Allen lead the Celtics w/ 33 and KG added 21 - 11 coming in the 4th qtr; he also finished w/ 10 rebounds. Pierce had an off night going 6-16 for only 13 points, and Perkins was the only other Celtic in double figures w/ 11.

Boston shot horribly from 3. Washington did an excellent job of defending the 3 pt line.

Boston 3 pt shooting = 4/19 (21%)
