Wizards 3-gm Win Streak Snapped

Association Day: 01/02/2009

The Wizards lose a tough one on the road to the New Orleans Hornets.

After being down 32-16 after one quarter of play. The Wizards got out on a 9-0 run to start the 2nd qtr, and looked alive after a dismal 38% shooting 1st qtr.

Washington pulled back into the game after strong play in the 2nd qtr, and finished down at the half by 5; 48-43. However, costly turnovers prevented them from trying or taking a slim lead to finish out the half.

The Wizards got off to a slow start in the 3rd, but rebounded late and finished down by 9 & still very much in it. The 4th qtr however, proved to be the quarter where they met their demise.

7 turnover's in the 4th - to make it 17 for the game - coupled w/ NO's consistency from deep allowed the Hornets to get up by 17 w/ 7:00 minutes left to play. Around the 3:40 mark head coach Alex Gooden replaced his starters for his bench, and this one would be over.

Hornets win 110-93.

One bright spot in this one was the play of Javaris Crittenton during the 'garbage time' he received to close-out the game. He posterized Antonio Daniels, and Hilton Armstrong and with Mike James struggling, Jarvaris could be the starter until Gilbert Arenas returns in a couple of weeks...stay tuned.

From the Box:

Caron Butler & McGee were the only reliable scoring options. Caron finished w/ 25 points on 10/22 shooting w/ 5 rebounds and 3 steals, and McGee finished w/ 15 and 11.

Jamison, Stevenson, & Young combined to go 19/49 from the field, or 39% from the floor; scoring 16, 11, and 17 respectively.

New Orleans shot 10/22 from 3 pt range; they were 8-18 in the 1st half. The Hornets came up w/ 17 Washington turnovers, and finished w/ a +15 offensive rebound margin; 17-2.

Chris Paul would finish 25 pts, 8 ast, and 5 steals. James Posey was the second leading scorer w/ 19 - he also came up w/ key shot after key shot in the 2nd and 3rd qtrs at points where the Wizards were within a FG of tying or taking the lead.

Next-up Boston @ the Garden.

Wizards record is 13-17

CHEMISTRY = ZERO %; 0%

..................................................

I need to get Gilbert back into the lineup soon...real soon.

Even after a 3 gm win streak beating Cleveland in Cleveland, and the Rockets in OT on the road my chemistry didn't budge.

It's still remained at 0%.

I'm eyeing Jan. 16th - a home game vs the Knicks - as Gilbert's possible return. I would've liked to keep him out of the lineup until an official return date for the REAL Agent-Zero was known, but w/ him and Haywood sitting on the IR while not hurt it has made my chemistry drop to ZERO.

I haven't really noticed an extreme difference on the court since I've still been able to win games, but I would like to get that 'arbitrary' figure back up to something respectable.

What do you all think? Have I waited and suffered long enough with leaving Gilbert on IR through 30 games, or should I continue to keep him on the IR until he actually comes back in real-life?

Keep in mind that I am 9 games ahead of the real Wizards.
