After a 7-20 start in April, the Tigers improved to 15-15 in May, only 5 games out of first in a very weak AL Central Division.

I just finished May in my Tigers dynasty and the Tigers are only 6.5 games behind the Twins. They went 15-13 in May.

Kansas City, MO (AP) Justin Verlander got hammered and the Tiger bats could not get untracked as the the Tigers lose their opener 8-1 to Kansas City.
Verlander only lasted 2 and 2/3 innings before being lifted. He gave up 7 ER in that span. The Tigers only score came on Magglio Ordonez' 1st HR of the year.
After an off day, the Tigers play game 2 of the series.
