Growing up I was always a madden fan, patiently waiting for that midnight in August where I could buy my copy of the new edition. I would save money from helping my dad with his paper route. And when I would finally get it, me and my friends would be in gaming bliss. Fast forward to 2009 where Madden 10 has a special place in cabinet not to be disturbed (Not a good place).
These next comments are coming from a guy that has never played NFL 2K in his life. I was always a madden fan boy until the dreaded day I bought an xbox 360. I just don't understand how a game can be so good on a worse console and so different on the next generation. When I first got my xbox 360 in 2009 the first game I got was Madden 2010. I was so excited to finally play on the xbox 360! When I played my first game, me and my friend were looking at each other thinking in are heads "Do you think this game is as trash as I do?" . But, all of my other roommates and friends thought it was the greatest game ever. So, I had to do some research. I googled madden sucks and I found tons of videos and this website(Operation Sports) with people stressing my same points for the last 3 years. This made feel like I was not the odd man out. Still something had to be done my favorite childhood game was ruined and I had no other alternative but to start posting wish lists and hoping my ideas were heard, but most of them weren't.
Which make me think sometimes. Maybe it is us who are being too critical after all it is just a video game. Maybe it is us that have grown up and found better things to do with lives than sit in front a television playing virtual football. I don't know about you but I am 22 now I have my own apartment, a girlfriend, a job, and I'm in school. So I have better things to do than when I was 13. Maybe it is that we miss the old times when we didn't have stress in are lives like a relationship, bills, or finals. Sometimes I fell like I just grew out of madden and there is little wrong with the game.
Or sometimes I feel as EA has dropped the ball. If you look at my wish list from 2010 you can remove two things and use the rest for 2013. I am not a game programer but I feel like we get the same game with slightly better graphics and some tuning. I get sick of spending sixty dollars a year and thinking to myself, "Man I could have just updated the roster and save some money". It seems they would rather use hype and propaganda than actually making a good game. The bad part about it is they get most of every year. Madden 12 has been in PS3 probably five since I had it and NCAA probably 15 times. Talk about a total waste of money. In conclusion the only way I feel I will come back to football gaming is if the NFL does not re sign madden and open up competition for 2014
