How to Solve the VC Crisis
Posted on December 14, 2013 at 08:49 PM.
I'm going to be blunt and come out and say it, VC needs to be removed. I don't understand why 2K suckers customers into buying the game for $60 then buying extra if they want to actually enjoy the features of the game. I've vowed to never buy VC as paying $60 for a video game is enough. But, I believe I've found a solution to the cries of many, just dispose of VC.
MyPlayer/MyCareer should revert to using skill points for upgrading your players ratings and signature skills. For clothes, animations, equipment, or any other non-skill related item you can purchase, should be bought with a realistic salary that your player makes. The salary of VC you currently make is ridiculous because at the end of the year you would barely be able to deck your player out wit equipment. You fact that you have to pay to simply place a rubber band on your wrist is also ludicrous as in real life the players don't pay their equipment, (Well maybe Kenyon Martin or Stephon Jackson, they seem to seriously deck themselves out)the team does. You should earn a salary that an actual rookie taken at your position would make, and depending on your level of play when your rookie deal runs up, get offered the money someone who puts up stats like you get offered. You could earn the money in divided increments over the year and be able to able to afford at least some kind of equipment or piece of clothes or some animation on that payday. A payment of 138 VC on a payday is not nearly enough to buy a 7500 VC shoe on blacktop (By the way, why are these shoes for only one mode so expensive?).
As for MyTeam, we could just promote MyTeam points, or MT, as the sole currency for MyTeam. That would solve the super team issue of everybody having a lineup starring five 90+ players right out of the box. If we could just actually work with the players we have instead of land Mike and just play iso-ball all day, it would create a more diverse way of how players choose to run their team in all aspects, in building their players and learning how to play with them. With tournaments, schedule games, and Road to the Playoffs, there is plenty of games to go around to earn VC. In a perfect world, we could have match-ups of realistic lineups and sensible styles of play. All gold lineups that play arcade style play just gets stale and MyTeam becomes tasteless when your team looks no different from your opponents.
That's my vision, three different currencies, two different game modes. No payment for any of them. If you want to get good, you gotta play the game. No need for any kind of currency in any other game mode, especially something like association. I hope people actually see this, especially the guys at 2K Sports.

VC IS NOT THE PROBLEM

2K's idiotic, disproportionate PRICING of all Store items and MyTeam items IS THE PROBLEM. Think about it...

Why do you have to play 2-3 MyCareer games just to afford a headband or ankle sleeve or similar items? Why in the hell should we even pay for sock height (high, mid, low, ankle)??? All shoes are ridiculously expensive, even the cheaper brands. Game become a little stale when you have to play a week or so straight just to buy 1 outfit w/shoes or 1 MyTeam booster box.

HERE'S THE KICKER
On the flip side, without VC, online MyPlayer modes become infested with hacked players and cheeses. The VC stays connected with your account on the server so, when you slice that connection, you disconnect the player from your account on the server and can not reconnect it. The only way widely known to hack the players are to take the file offline to hack it.

2K also knows that VC control everything great in the game, so they make a great bit of money off people wanting to do/get it all quick. They have the pricing for the VC quite affordable too. Smart. But they just need to be more reasonable on how much VC can afford to get you.

So basically, without VC, the game couldn't have really grown in areas like Crew, MyTeam, Blacktop because guys would hack and hack and hack!
