Derek Dooley on the Hot Seat
Posted on April 13, 2012 at 11:43 PM.
Well this upcoming football season could be the last season for Tennessee Volunteers head coach, Derek Dooley. As a die-hard Volunteers fan I really hate to see him go if this should happen. I think Dooley came in on a bad note, picking up where the "L word" left everything all messed up. But Dooley found success during his first year with a true freshman QB, Tyler Bray. Bray was supposed to be a huge factor for the Vols last year, but with Justin Hunter (great WR) going down in the Florida game, ultimately the blame that the Vols probably lost, but that's just my thought. Not to mention how many times I counted that the starting center would make terrible snaps in the worst of situations (Dooley could've put anyone else in for that chump, he just flat out sucked.)

Now this year Dooley is going to have to produce at least an 8-4 team just to be able to lose a bowl and stay a head coach in Tennessee, but if Dooley can produce a 6-6 or 7-5 team and win their bowl game, I believe that he will stay. But now that leaves us with the big question, can the Volunteers stay healthy enough to survive a season that includes Florida, Missou, and Bama at Knoxville and then traveling to S.C and Georgia. I believe that the Volunteers can finish 7-5 if not 8-4. It will be tough but with a healthy crew it is possible.
