Okay, well, I think I may have rushed into doing a franchise on here to soon. I'm going to have to come up with a better plan of action because through playing this isnt working out the way I would like it to. So I'm going to discontinue this franchise. Oh I know! So many broken hearts! [sarcasm noted]. I will be back with a much better one sometime in the near future. Thanks for your time.

And so our journey begins!

It is such a great feeling to start a season with a win, it really sets the tone for the entire season I think. So we set out today to make it happen. But did we?

The game didn't start well, as our new QB Colt McCoy threw and interception on the first drive, but after a missed field goal by Tampa Bay, we made sure we made our own. 3-0 CLE.

After a few back and forth drives (one which included a fantastic interception by our CB Eric Wright), Tampa was able to tie it up with a field goal of their own. 3-3.

That was when Browns favorite Joshua Cribbs took the ensuing kickoff back to the house. He is such an incredible weapon! 10-3 CLE.

Like a rubber band, Tampa responded with a Josh Freeman TD pass to Reggie Brown. 10-10.

Luckily right before the half we got another field goal to take the lead.
13-10 CLE.

It was a shaky first half for Colt, however Jerome Harrison has had a good game so far, but he still has not reached the endzone.

We came out strong after the first half with a long drive capped off by a short TD run by FB Lawrence Vickers, one of the best at his position. 20-10 CLE.

Tampa came back with another FG but we still had a good lead. 20-13 CLE.

On our next drive Harrison broke through with a long TD run that seemed like the dagger in Tampa's heart. 27-13 CLE.

We stopped Tampa's next drive and were ready to drive down to make our lead even bigger when Colt made a bad throw that ended up going the other way for 7. He still has a way to go, but he has potential. 27-20 CLE.

On our next drive we rode Harrison all the may to their 2 yard line, where Vickers finished the drive with another TD run. Tampa fumbled the following kickoff and we put up another 3 points as time expired to bring home a 37-20 win to start the season.

While I am excited by the result, we have much work to do, and we will face tougher opponents down the line. However we very much like what we see in Harrison who was Player of the Game with this stat line: 28 carries for 140 yards and 1 TD.

I can't wait till next week. Let's see if we can build off this win!

Hello good people of Cleveland! We are very excited to starting the football season in full and show you what our team can do. But first we slogged through the preseason, where we trimmed our roster down to the absolute best. So today I bring you a summary of what our team has done this preseason, in a convenient numbered order:

1. After a spectacular offseason, we have named Colt McCoy as our starting quarterback for the 2010 season.

2. We have traded CB Sheldon Brown and RG Floyd Womack to the Bills for RG Eric Wood and the Bill's 4th and 5th round picks. We believe that Wood will prove to be a cornerstone of our offensive line.

3. In regards to free agents we signed a couple quality back ups to ensure we are secure in case of injury. We signed LT B. Frye to a 5 year deal and RG D. Miller to a 4 year deal.

4. We escaped the preseason with only one major injury to LG Eric Steinbach who will miss at least 8 games, in response to that we have signed LG Arron Sears to a 1 year deal.

5. We have decided to part ways with QB Brett Ratliff and CB Brandon McDonald. They are quality football players, but they were just not the right fit for us.

6. Now it should be said that one shouldn't get too excited over preseason records, but we managed to go undefeated! It is a good first step but it has to translate to the regular season before we start crowning ourselves.

We are very excited for our game with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 12th, and for certain we will bring hope back to Cleveland!

The city of Cleveland has been through so much turmoil and heartache, to a point where most cities and people would simply give up, but somehow Cleveland manages to keep limping forward. However with hopes in the city at an all time low thanks to the economic situation and the departure of a certain someone, the people of Cleveland need something to pin their hopes on, the answer (perhaps surprisingly) is the Cleveland Browns.

Since re-entering the league in 1999, the Browns have had only two winning seasons and one playoff berth. So there isn't much history of greatness in the new Browns. But this new season brings hope as the Browns are now led by a competent GM with a clear and concise path to the future. Not Mike Holmgren though, he realized that coaching was too tempting, so he built a nice house in the middle of the woods with his family and now coaches woodland creatures in peace. That's where I come in. My name is Nathaniel Payne, the new GM of the Cleveland Browns and I am going to give Cleveland the best thing it has seen since The Drew Carey Show!
