I was going to start this one with a nod to Stan Lee by saying "Hello, True Believers!", but then upon further research, everyone does that, so in lieu of that I will say "Greetings! People, who are also bored and share some similar interests possibly!".
Okay now that I have that out the way, I thought I would join a chorus. In a sense. Not a real one, if I sing I sound like a chipper mountain goat. But the chorus of people bemoaning aspects of Madden that are just now catching up to ESPN NFL 2K5 which has my favorite athlete ever on the cover (that is a lie). I have a tried to play it again consistently since I first started hearing about Madden 11 (on which I have made my opinion very clear), but I haven't really been able to get anything going. Well starting about two weeks ago, my urge to play some football games was hitting a high point and without Where-The-Heck-Are-My-Franchise-Mode-Improvements 11 I was limited to 2K5 which I have miraculously held onto. I have been having a good time with a couple of franchises (Texans, Cardinals) and I've reflected on a few things. Firstly and to make sure this is not all smooching up to 2K5, the progression system is broken as heck. Which further proves that finding a good progression system in a sports game is nigh impossible. Anyways, to jump to the part where I mention the things they've had before now in 2K5 (Note: I'll still give credit to the Madden 12 team for actually adding most of these things, as opposed to just saying "oh screw you guys, we're too busy rolling in money!"...no no the money rolling is Peter Moore's job): trading future draft picks, which is a very nice bonus for wheeling and dealing like the Patriots, minus hoodies and headbands. Having a larger than normal roster for preseason (to Madden 12's credit, it is taking this even further, with a special emphasis put on it). Really good presentation, which as with any commentary can get repetitive if you play every single game (Note: One of my favorite video game extras is the audio track you can unlock in this with the commentary outtakes, because of it, I always call it the toin coss) and there is fantastic chemistry between the announcers (Note 2: I hate Cris Collinsworth, I just hate hearing him, I hate seeing him, SNF is tough to stomach now, Al Michaels keeps it balanced though. If you like Collinsworth, thats alright, you're entitled to your opinion, and I won't argue since the mute button exists for a reason). Well I'm losing my train of thought for this so I will switch back to supporting Madden 12. For one, the animations have gotten much better, or at least the open field running animations have improved greatly...I actually laugh when I see running in 2K5. Also in Madden, they at least provide a projected round for all draftees, this is not in 2K5, the trade off is having a Big Board and a Mock Draft...though I feel instinctively like I should ignore everything Mel Kiper says, but thats neither here nor there. So to ignore everything I just typed, I will sum it up by saying that between Madden and 2K5, there are good and bad things, each side fires it volleys, but I'm excited to get my hands on Madden 12 and see NFL games progress over time...unless the progression of sports games is broken as well = /
Thank you very much for your time. Take care!

Good point, in the end, just keep it in perspective. We can argue individual points, as long as we respect the ability to have an opinion. And I must say that I hope McNabb does well this year, I still root for him, Eagle or not.

Yeah its funny how we can sometimes get so wrapped up in our games. Its all good though, its what we do! Yeah its nice to have a qb in town without all the baggage for a change! Should be fun to see how he does this year, hes been a really good qb.

This is always a polarizing topic but I guess I am kind of in the middle of things. I am someone who sees these as video games, which all I want out of them is something fun, but of course my idea of fun is different from the next guy. But you put it well saying both sides have good and bad points. Of course these are opinions and thats what makes it so much fun!
