So I just finished reading the extensive (it feels good to say that) franchise blog for Madden 12 and I am legitimately excited for it. Around this time last year I was ranting to whoever happened to be around me at any given time about how incredibly stupid the Madden development team was for the "improvements" they aimed for in Madden 11, so this is an absolute upgrade year-over-year. Admittedly Madden 11 managed to live perfectly down to expectations, but to look to the future, Madden 12 has me more excited for a Madden game then...well, maybe 06. So it has been a long time coming. As I have addressed before, Franchise mode is my bread and marshmallow fluff (I have no idea why everyone insists on butter), excluding this past year it is the game mode I spend the most time with in any given year. So to see the laundry list of improvements across the board is absolutely stunning. Admittedly all these improvements could come out half-baked and smelling of rotten cheese, but I'd still consider it an upgrade. Dynamic Player Performance, Expanded Rosters and Pre-season Improvements sound great. The new rookie scouting and free agency systems are blessings, the return of roles is a good thing, and then the little things like trading future picks, injured reserve fixes, rookies having actual faces, etc. I am very very excited that they have randomized the names and numbers of draft rookies as well since that will make longer franchises so much less boring. Like I said, all these things could fail spectacularily but I will be in virtual pigskin heaven. I won't apologize for my thoughts on Madden 11, but Madden 12 has potential to be the best, at least on this generation. Now I might just go preorder it.

Agree with you. I haven't been excited about a Madden release before the release date since about 2005. Ps2 2005 saw me get through the most seasons I've ever gotten through in one franchise... But after 07 on the PC... there hasn't been a Madden to thrill me. I have 10 for the 360... but 12, to me finally gives me a reason to be excited again.
