Orlando, FL (AP) - It wasn't their prettiest win of the season, but a win's a win. Orlando picks up another double-digit victory at the Amway Center, beating Washington 89-72. The win avenges Orlando's first loss, in the first game, of the season in which the team was blown out of the water. This time, it was Washington's turn to get blown out. Both teams really struggled shooting the ball, especially early on. The Magic could only manage 19 points, and the Wizards fared no better, scoring just 13. Orlando shot just 36% in the opening quarter, while Washington was much worse, connecting on just 6 of 26 shots (23%).

The Magic continued to build on their lead, going up by as much as 29 before Washington went on a run in the fourth quarter. The Wizards had it down to 7 points with less than 6:00 left in the game. But, 2 consecutive dunks by Orlando forward Brian Happel put the team back up double-digits, and the Magic never looked back. Afterwards, Happel was proud of his team's grit, "Such a great all-around game for the team tonight. It's so rewarding to see what this team can do when we're all on the same page. A win like this is a huge confidence boost, so let's hope we can carry that right into our next game." Happel finished with 25 points and 12 rebounds.

The starters continue to step up in the absence of Gilbert Arenas. Dwight Howard put up a monster game, grabbing 25 rebounds. He also scored 13 points. Stephen Jackson shot the ball well, scoring 22 points and adding 5 assists. He shot 9-18 from the field and 2-4 from behind the arc. And Andray Blatche had another solid game down low for the Magic, adding 14 points and 9 boards.
Happel was aggressive early on, driving to the basket for a strong finish
Washington had five players score in double-figures. The problem is, John Wall was the high scorer with just 14 points. He struggled from the field, to say the least, going just 7-23 from the field. Brandon Bass played well against his former team, scoring 12 points on 5-10 shooting in just 19 minutes of action. Bass was on Orlando last year when the Magic won the NBA Title.

The Magic have won eight games in a row. They'll try to make it nine on Thursday night when they travel to Miami to take on their arch rivals, the Heat. Miami is almost as hot as Orlando. The Heat are 13-4 so far this season, 7-3 in their last 10 games.
