THE BUCKS STOP HERE - ORLANDO WINS LAUGHER
Milwaukee, WI (AP) - This game had all the makings of a trap game for the Magic. Then they got on the court and played the game. So much for that. Orlando picks up an easy road win, destroying Milwaukee 111-74. The Magic were looking to bounce back after a tough loss at home against Atlanta tonight, and bounce back they did. Orlando dominated shooting the ball, hitting on 55% of its shots, while holding the Bucks to just 35% from the field, including a miserable 3-24 from three-point range. Orlando star Brian Happel said after the game this was the kind of effort he was looking for, "It was really a team effort out there, and those are the best kind of wins. I'm hoping we can use this as a momentum builder to keep up this kind of play moving forward."
VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS: Happel goes "dunk-wild" on Milwaukee with 7 dunks
Happel dominated offensively for the Magic. He scored a whopping 52 points on 23-30 shooting from the field. Happel also added 12 rebounds and 4 assists just for good measure. Andray Blatche added a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds, and DeJuan Blair grabbed 10 boards off the bench. In all, four Magic players scored in double-figures. The bench also managed to put up 23 points in the win.
Bogut and the Bucks were showing Happel a way to the basket all night, as he scored 52 points
As for the Bucks, Brett Atkins scored a season-high 20 points to lead the way. Brandon Jennings added 14 points, but was only 5-25 shooting from the field, including 0-7 from behind the arc. However, he did dish out 6 assists.
Happel put on a dunk contest of sorts, throwing down 9 of them on the Bucks
One of the side stories in this was rebounding. Orlando dramatically outrebounded Milwaukee, nearly doubling them up, grabbing 61 rebounds compared to the Bucks getting just 33. The Magic also did a better job sharing the basketball, collecting 24 assists, while Milwaukee had just 13 dimes. Orlando will get a couple days off now before welcoming their rivals, the Boston Celtics, to the Amway Center on Friday night.
