ORLANDO LOSES MAGIC TOUCH IN ATLANTA, HAWKS WIN GAME 3
Atlanta, GA (AP) - You knew it was bound to happen. Orlando laid an egg, so to speak, and lost on the road to the Hawks 86-75. Atlanta picked up a much needed win to avoid getting into a three-oh hole that nobody has ever come back from. Atlanta was sparked by the return of Joe Johnson, who scored 25 points after sitting on the sidelines for the first two games due to a bad shoulder. The Magic just didn't have the touch on offense tonight, hitting on only 38% of their shots. Interestingly, Orlando shot better from behind the three-point line, hitting 8 of 17 shots for 47%.
Happel and the Orlando offense were frustrated all night, though Happel still found Howard for the dunk
Orlando Forward Brian Happel played well, but he didn't get much support from the rest of the team. Happel finished with 37 points, including 3 three-pointers. But, the only other Magic player to score in double figures was Dwight Howard, who shot 6-17 for 12 points. John Salmons is mired in a deep shooting slump, going just 8-36 so far in the series, and 17-71 for the playoffs.
Another victim to add to the Happel Posterization Club
Four Atlanta players scored in double figures. Both Al Horford and Josh Smith contributed double-doubles for the Hawks, who now trail in the best-of-seven series two games to one. "We knew once we got home, we'd get a nice little boost, and that's what happened tonight. Now, we've got a chance to get right back in this thing." Atlanta will look to tie the series up on Sunday night.
The highlight of the night, Arenas to Happel for the alley-oop reverse dunk
