HAPPEL, KOBE NAMED PLAYERS OF THE WEEK

Orlando, FL (AP) - It's been a year to remember for Orlando Magic forward Brian Happel, and the hardware just keeps on piling up. Happel was named the Eastern Conference Player of the Week for April 1-April 7.

Yao Ming and the rest of the NBA could only watch as Happel continued his dream season

The star forward dominated in three wins last week against Toronto, Houston and New Orleans. Happel averaged 39 points per game and 17.3 rebounds per game for the week. He also worked his "magic" shooting the ball, hitting on a whopping 71% from the field and 8-13 from behind the arc for a ridiculous 62%.

Bryant led his Lakers to a 3-1 record this week

Out west, Kobe Bryant was named that conference's player of the week for the same time period. Bryant averaged 39.5 points per game for the week. It was the eighth time this year Bryant received the honor.
