ORLANDO WINS RIVALRY GAME AGAINST HEAT

The Magic managed to cool down Miami's hot offense all game long to pick up a win over their rivals at home, 97-86. Orlando trailed by as much as 10 points in this one. However, the offense really picked things up in the second half and finished the game with a 16-2 run to pick up the victory.

Happel's 3 over LeBron late in the fourth quarter gives Orlando the lead

Orlando leaned heavily on its star forward, Brian Happel, especially in the second half. Happel scored 24 of his game high 34 points in the second half, including 14 in the final quarter. He also collected 15 rebounds. Dwight Howard also put together a solid game, scoring 22 points on 11-16 shooting and grabbing a team high 17 rebounds. Point Guard Gilbert Arenas dished out 9 assists.

The Magic had Miami under their defensive spell all game long, holding LeBron James to just 17 points on 7-15 shooting. Dwayne Wade had a good game, but was more or less held in check, scoring just 23 points.

The victory helped propel Orlando to #1 in the most recent NBA power rankings. Up next for the Magic: another home game against lowly Detroit. Orlando trails Miami by just 3 games now for the top spot in the East.
