Biff Below was the talk of the town last week over his superhuman performance against the Cleveland browns. This week, however, a new star emerged on the Jets offense and grabbed the spotlight for at least this week.
Don't get me wrong, Biff Below had a decent game. He went 19-30, throwing for 200+ yards, a rushing touchdown, and a passing touchdown. So he did his part. But the real story, at least in my opinion, lies with Chuck Potter.
Potter isn't the kind of guy you expect to hog the spotlight. He's merely a roleplayer on this Jets team. He's their pass-catching double threat back, and has managed to do well as such. But today he got to stretch his legs a bit, and boy did he ever. Potter rushed for 120 yards and two touchdowns on the way to a Jets victory over Atlanta 31-13.
"I was happy with his work on Sunday," Coach McCullen said after the game, "he was red hot, so we just kept giving him the ball, and he didn't disappoint."
