Mariners win ALDS 3-1 over the A's, advance to ALCS showdown vs. Yanks.
Posted on August 20, 2014 at 05:35 AM.
Game 3: Paxton vs. Gray

Both pitchers were perfect through 6, but Paxton gave up a Leadoff HR to Crisp in the bottom of the 7th.

Gray shut us down, but we both took advantage if each other's bullpens.

Lost the game log, but FINAL score: Oak 6 - 4 Sea

I'll post a quicker write up for games 4/5 like I did for game 3, at the end of the series, win or lose, I'll post the stats from all the hitters.

Game 4:
Elias vs. Kazmir

A 4 run 7th inning gave the mariners a 10-6 lead and the bullpen **** it down. Mariners advance, beat A's 3-1 in the ALDS.

ALDS stats:
Jackson: .278, 1 RBI
Saunders: .316, 3 RBI
Cano: .471, 1 HR, 4 RBI
Morales: .250
Seager: .267, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Smoak: .200, 1 RBI
Zunino: .308, 1 HR, 4 RBI
Ackley: .375, 1 HR, 3 RBI
Taylor: .333, 1 HR, 3 RBI

Corey Hart: 1.000 (1/1), 1 RBI

After beating the A's 3-1 in the ALDS, we will be taking on the New York Yankees I'm the ALCS. I'd be fine with a win or loss here, as it would be cool to see guys like Ichiro and Jeter go out on top.

Interesting note: the only other time the Mariners have made it to the ALCS, was 2001, the year they set the record for most wins in a season (116). They ended up losing to the YANKEES. Hopefully we reverse out fortune in 2014.
