Hey guys, I'm here to re-start m blog playing MLB 2K12 with the Mariners.

I JUST started, and about to sim through the Spring Training.

The biggest story heading into this year is:

"Restocked Cardinals set to defend the World Series title."

Anyway, the main goal for me this year is to play .500 ball. If we can do that, we are heading in the right direction. If we don't accomplish that, we just need to wait, and bring in the right pieces.

Anyway, I just loaded this, nd simmed through ST, year 1. I'm at opening day, against the A's.
*NOTE* I'm playing with (SHOUT OUT) mkharsh33's sliders AND rosters. Love the guys work on NCAA, NBA 2k, and MLB 2k.

Also, I'm using the Mariners EXACT roster mk used to start the season, no editing, or anything. I will edit the line-ups, roster, etc. however.

My line-up is as follows:

vs. RHP:
1. Michael Saunders, LF (always liked him in LF)
2. Dustin Ackley, 2B
3. John Jaso, C
4. Jesus Montero, DH
5. Kyle Seager, 3B
6. Justin Smoak, 1B
7. Trayvon Robinson, RF
8. Casper Wells, CF
9. Brenden Ryan, SS

vs. LHP:
1. Michael Saunders, LF (always liked him in LF)
2. Dustin Ackley, 2B
3. John Jaso, C
4. Jesus Montero, DH
5. Kyle Seager, 3B
6. Mike Carp, 1B

rotation/bulllpen:
1. Felix Hernandez, RHP (ace of the staff, untouchable in trade talks.)
2. Jason Vargas, LHP (solid #2 guy and possible trade target.)
3. Kevin Millwood, RHP
4. Hisashi Iwakuma, RHP
5. Blake Beavan, RHP

MRs:
Shawn Kelley, RHP
Stephen Pryor, RHP
George Sherrill, LHP (7th inning guy)
Lucas Luetge, LHP (Lefty specialist)

SU:
Charlie Furbush, LHP (8th inning)

CL:
Tom Wilhelmsen, RHP

The main position battles are:

- Every OF spot for Thames/Saunders/Wells/Robinson, and maybe Gutierrez if he earns a call-up from AAA.
- 1B for Mike Carp/Justin Smoak
- SU role for every reliever and possibly some guys in AAA.
- 4th, 5th spot in the rotation for numerous AAA guys, Iwakuma, and Beavan.

Our first game I will play against the A's, will feature our ace, the "King", Felix Hernandez, against their "ace" (I use the term "ace" lightly) Brandon McCarthy.
(Oh and so you know, I'm playing every 6th game, so I play every starter in order still, while shortening the season for me, and you guys.)

*HIGLIGHTS*
- Eric Thames had a GREAT diving play to rob Jemile Weeks of a base hit in the 1st inning for the second out.
- Mike Carp had a RBI triple in the second when CF Coco Crisp missed the ball while diving. Kyle Seager scored.
- Jemile Weeks Scored Coco Crisp after an RBI single in the 5th.
- Yoenis Cespedes hit a HR in the 6th.
- Jemile Weeks makes an error at second. John Jaso scores. 2-2
- Kyle Seager infield hit in the 9th scores Jesus Montero. 3-2
- Tom Wilhelmsen record the first save of his career, in a 3-2 win on opening day!
