2k and the PS3 Port

Do you guys think 2k should really focus on getting the PS3 to look eqivalent with the 360 version? Nothing bugs me more than to see the same game with the same cover and the same main menus have a graphical advantage when the system ( 360 ) doesn't even have the same graphical capabilty as the PS3. Look at games like Uncharted, Killzone 3, Resistance 3. The 360 version would end up looking like the 2k's PS3 version of NBA 2k11. It's not like it goes unoticed, I remember last year when it came out everyone was pointing out the graphical flaws. Oh YEAH, the sock glitch too!!! That is just uneccessary and completely unexceptable. The PS3 version should look exactly the same as the 360, absolutly no flaws like the 360. The Anti-Aliasing takes a big hit with the porting also. Why can't 2k take the time to make the PS3 version look the same? Name any game the Xbox has and tell me the PS3 couldn't handle it. Mass Effect 2 originally came out for the 360 and it looked a lot better on the PS3. 2k also short ended Mafia 2 for the PS3 users. It is just not exceptable for this day and age of gaming where graphics mean a lot in percieving a realistic transing expierence. All I ask of 2k is to continue making the best basketball game on the market, and make it so there are no complaints from the PS3 port this year. Please I beg you. I paid for my PS3 just like the 360 users. I pay the same amount of money ( $60 ) as them too, why should I and everyother PS3 user get a short handed copy of the game?

agreed 100% my friend. I have PS3 and while the graphics still look good the jaggies get on my nerves from time to time

U r dead rite.I downloaded nba 2k11 demo on both xbox 360 and ps3(i own both), and i was so disappointed to see 2k11 demo on ps3, no anti-aliasing wastso ever.Highly disappointed by the 2k team.I hope this year is different, cause i really want to play nba 2k12 on my new 3d tv.I noticed the same thing about nba elite 11 and nhl 11 demo's, i downloaded em on my xbox 360 and ps3, and the exact same problem.U see, the ps3 as it is a more complex hardware, the developers don't spend nuch time on em, they just simply port the 360 version on the ps3.Now ane one who feels that xbox 360 is more powerfull graphically and has more capability visually when it comes to games, is seriously mistaken.Just luk at the games like unchartered series, metal gear solid and mlb 11 the show(the game i play a lot and has perfect anti-aliasing, no problem watso ever) and u can't even compare em to xbox 360 exclusives, they(ps3 exclusives)are so so brilliant visually, hec my mum thinks that i am watching a real baseball game, when i play mlb 11 the show.If u go to the 2k forums, there r many people complaining about the visual difference between the 2 versions.People are angry, u know, u pay 60 bucks for a game, and the next thing u know, u playing a game with no anti-aliasing.I am not a ps3 fan boy, i have both xbox 360 and ps3, i m just stating the facts.Btw, real nice blog, gud observation,it's about time that the lazy 2k guys do some work on the ps3.I don't have much high expectations from them.The demo that Kobe Bryant was playing of nba 2k12 at E3 in LA, that luked liked it had no anti-aliasing.Well i just hope that they can recognize this problem and dedicate some time exclusively to the ps3.Good day every one.

I completely agree, if there going to give us a lesser quality game, we shouldn't have to pay the full 460, maybe if they keep screwing ps3 users they should release it at $50 so we don't feel so cheated paying the same price as 360 and getting lesser quality games!

I think the problem is that the xbox360 was released before the ps3. It was the opposite for the ps2 and xbox because the ps2 was released first. Whichever console is released last gets ported games.

I had 2K11 PS3 and sold it; then I bought the 360 version. Ma man... PS3 version is an aliasing factory... Besides it, the textures and lightning look poorer on PS3.
But you have to admit that PS3 hardware is kinda complex. See, the port for PC looks like exactly the 360 version. Only the PS3 one is f`ed up.

I made this point last September/October but few seemed to listen...not only was the PS3 version graphically inferior to the 360 version, but it was graphically inferior to 2k10 as well. I don't know what happened...but 2k didn't seem to care. I only kept the game for a month, but I wished I had never bought it at all. I still can't get over how they could mess up on the PS3 that bad at this point in the current system cycle.

@inkcil it's completely ridiculous it's not like they can't make it look like the 360 if better. I just don't understand, the PS3 has complex hardware but after 4 or 5 years since its release shouldn't they have figured it out by now. lol it so ridiculous. Your right too, 2k doesn't care the least bit at all. They don't reach out why it's worse and don't do anything to fix it. Same thing happened to Mafia 2 also a 2k game. Looks way worse on PS3. I don't know it just seems to me like they are being ridiculously lazy at this point. I swear if the same thing happens for 2k12 I really won't get it.

Yeah GTA 4 is one of the few games PS3 looks better on.
