After only muscling together 10 wins since the hire of Ron English in 2009, the Eastern Michigan Eagles decided to part ways with Ron and hire the highly unknown David Hart. The hire was questionable from the get go and 3 games into the season, we can all see why. The Eagles have started 0-3 on the season and have no idea on the identity of this team.

You could chalk it up to their incredibly tough schedule. Week 1 saw them take on the defending National Champion Crimson Tide from Alabama. The level of competition was evident from the get go and Alabama had nothing more than an extra maroon vs white spring game playing the Eagles in Tuscaloosa. Eastern Michigan was over matched and overwhelmed.

Week 2 saw new Head Coach Todd Graham and the Arizona State Sun Devils bring their spread option attack to Ypsilanti, Michigan. Again, Eastern Michigan looked out matched, out of focus, and still dejected after being shut out in week 1 against Alabama. It wasn't a complete disaster for the Eagles in week 2 as they finally were able to put points on the scoreboard for the first time in 2013. However, they never had much of a chance. One thing to note about the week 2 game is that Eastern Michigan pulled the red shirt from true Freshman QB Brogan Roback in an attempt to ignite the Eagle offense. Brogan had a decent showing and should get more playing time as the season wears on.

This past week the Eagles welcomed in the Kansas State Wildcats and their run heavy offense. Coach Hart must have preached about bend but don't break defense, and ball control on offense to his guys all week because the Eagles came out with a completely different look. They seemed more disciplined on defense and they also seemed to find some sort of rhythm on offense.

Eastern Michigan gave the Wildcats all they could handle in the first half and held the Wildcats to 10 points in the first half. The Eagles could have easily taken a lead heading into half time, but there were some ill timed throws and drops in critical situations that didn't allow them to capitalize. The second half of the game was more showcasing the run game for the Wildcats, and they held on to the ball wearing out the Eagle defense drive after drive. It eventually proved to be too much as the Eagle defense became tired and overworked. This allowed the Wildcats to really separate themselves as they scored 21 points in the 2nd half to pull away with an easy victory.

Staring at 0-3, the Eagles are finally heading into conference play as they will host Ball State in the first conference game of Coach Hart's new found head coaching career. Hopefully for the Eagle faithful, Coach Hart has continued to emphasize ball control and discipline. Coach Hart might also want to look at potentially rotating guys in to keep everyone fresh so that they are not tiring out early in the 2nd half. Coach Hart has asked the fans to show up wearing gray because the Eagles will be wearing their full Gray uniforms. Stay tuned for future updates...

Welcome to my dynasty blog for the Online Dynasty The Struggle. I have taken over the head coaching gig of the Eagles in an attempt to build them up to be competitive and possibly win a championship down the road. I will be up****** my dynasty after every 3 weeks. I will start posting about my recruiting results after week 9. I can't release that information too early in fear of other users trying to sneak in and take a player away from me. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy reading it. I will also be attempting to create some highlight videos of my games throughout the seasons.

2013 OPENING DAY: SAN DIEGO PADRES

Hello all and welcome to this weeks look in on the San Diego Padres. Last year the Padres fell well short of expectations as they finished an abysmal 76-86 losing 6 of their final 10 games. The Padres weren't all doom and gloom all season as they had a very strong second half of the season. The first half of the season, the Padres looked like they were a roster made up of a bunch of AAA guys with no MLB experience as they finished 34-53. A nice summer break in San Diego seemed to be the key to getting things on track as the Padres finally gelled as a team and finished the back half of the season at an impressive 42-33.

Led by their superstar 3B Chase Headley, the San Diego Padres look to build on their late season success and will look to compete for the division title in 2013. New management has come in and made some pretty bold moves. New GM David Hart has decided to start a youth movement within the organization and has called up some of the top prospects in the business and has placed them on the 40 man roster. Some of those names include:

LF Edinson Rincon
RF Rymer Liriano
SS Jace Peterson
2B Jedd Gyorko
2B Cory Spangenberg
3B James Darnell
C Austin Hedges
SP Max Fried
SP Casey Kelley

Two guys that will see immediate action will be Jedd Gyorko and Casey Kelley. Both had impressive springs and have made the 25 man active roster. Jedd will split his time with Logan Forsythe, while Casey Kelley has creeped into the 5th spot in the rotation. Speaking of batting orders, and rotations here is a look at the opening day lineup for your San Diego Padres.

Lineup/Position:

1. SS Everth Cabrera
2. CF Cameron Maybin
3. 3B Chase Headley
4. LF Carlos Quentin
5. 1B Yonder Alonso
6. C Yasmani Grandal
7. RF Will Venable
8. 2B Jedd Gyorko
9. SP Cory Luebke

So there you have it folks. Your 2013 Opening Day San Diego Padres. We look forward to seeing everyone at PetCo Park this year as we bring you what hopes to be division winning baseball.
