This game was actually got quite out of hand, much to my surprise. Both sides of the ball played very well, but I have to tip my hat to the entire defense most importantly the front 7, as they tallied a massive 8 sacks.
The Rush Offense was doing pretty well today, Darren McFadden was getting good chunks of yardage until he separated his shoulder in the 2nd Quarter. Once he left the game, Rashad Jennings couldn’t get the big numbers going but Terrelle Pryor began finding good running seams and Marcel Reece had some decent runs too.
The Passing Offense was the one pitfall in this game. Terrelle Pryor amassed 183 yards with 2 TDs and 3 INTs. While he wasn’t amazing, he redeemed himself by throwing 2 great TDs late in the game. While there wasn’t a standout receiver I must say Marcel Reece did a great job receiving the ball out of the backfield, bringing a late, short pass in for a score as the defense went on a jailbreak blitz.
The Defense was astounding today. Andrew Luck will be waking up with lumps and bruises tomorrow as his line was swiss cheese. In the 1st Quarter we dropped Andrew Luck 3 times in the backfield and forced 2 fumbles – 1 was recovered, and 1 dribbled out of play. Our rush defense was an iron wall, we only let up two runs of 5+ yards, and only let up yards in the entire game.
