Year after year it amazes me how 2 games made by the same company can be so different. You would think by now there would be so communication and information sharing between the two programming teams. I mean come on, they go hand in hand.
NCAA 10 out of the box was a let down to me. But then again most sports games are until you mess with the sliders. Once they came out with the patch and I created my own sliders, it was like a bought a brand new NCAA 10
The running game was instantly fixed, the passing was good, the competition was excellent. By far I have more competitive games on NCAA 10 then I do on Madden 10. College sports always seem to have a better atmosphere that sucks you in and makes you want to play it more and more.
Now what would make this game perfect would be if it had Madden 10 Pro Tak feature. I am sure NCAA 11 will have it. Pro Tak is a great step in the right direction. Sure there are a lot of Pro Tak haters saying it causes too many broken tackles, which it can easily be fixed in the sliders.
Pro Tak really is a feature NFL 2K5 had years ago. Anyway this brings me to Madden 10. Don't get me wrong Madden 10 is a fun game, the best Madden in the past 4 years.
The thing that bugs the heck out of me is the whole passing system. Deep balls on Madden look like punts. Where as on NCAA 10, they look beautiful. But it just isn't the deep balls that is the problem with Madden 10
It is the whole route running and mind reading DB's who run the route better then the WR. That combined with pump fakes dont work is very ANNOYING. Makes you choose your play calling carefully and definitely put an end to throw the ball deep all game long LOL.
That being said......I think the reason why I like NCAA 10 more then Madden 10 is the whole atmosphere. Seeing the flag runners, cheerleaders, mascots, players faces celebrating is just awesome in NCAA 10. Madden 10 celebrations on the other hand seem to be short and cut off.
If EA would just combine the best features in each, we would have an awesome football game. But it always seem like they test stuff out on Madden and then if successful, bring it to NCAA a year or two later.
