Ok Raven Squad is a game that combines FPS with RTS. In theory you would think omg this game would be amazing. However it is far from it. Graphically this game could have been way better.
The most annoying feature of this game is the voice acting. Terrible voice acting, well I should just say the people they use have really annoying sounding voices. Which after a couple of hours will make you just want to turn the sound off.
As a FPS, it is just ok. The zoom on the sniper rifles don't really look like a zoom at all. Weapons over all kind of lacks detail. The RTS side of the game is pretty straight forward.
You get to control two squads which makes for pretty cool planning. Because you can use one to attack the front and the other to attack the enemys flank.
On the flip side however, using the RTS mode of the game really makes this game very easy. Don't worry though, you can switch from FPS to RTS with a click of a button.
In the end, on a scale of 10, I would give this game a 5. Great idea, but very poorly done. Looks like it was a rush job. And once again I must say the voice acting with the annoying voices really puts a HUGE damper on this game.
Raven Squad is more of a rental then a buy. How this game won best of show at E3 this year is beyond me. Graphically it don't look exciting and game play wise it is on the easy side, especially playing on RTS mode.
I guess I was just spoiled over the years with other squad based games like Call of Duty 4, Rainbow 6 Vegas, Socom, etc.
