NCAA 13: Tuner Gate

So NCAA 13 has been out for a week now. There is a tuner for it and the tuner has been out since the Season Ticket early release, but maybe even before that. Here is the thing, this marks the 1st time ever there has been no EA Sports official press release, statement or anything saying what the tuner suppose to have fixed.

The reason I say suppose to is because the game plays much better WITH OUT the tuner. With the tuner, real assignment AI is broken, offensive linemen miss their blocks badly with some times the blockers running backwards, instead of up field. Then you have mario running with the ball carrier just running in place because an offensive lineman is his way and instead of going around him, he just runs in place into his back. And finally the frame rate is highly unstable with the tuner. Frame rate drops out during game play causing the animation to freeze and skip around.

But yet nobody knows what the Tuner did. What is even more amazing is the Game Changers have had this game since the beginning of July, so a full 3 weeks now. They are the ones who ask for tuners for the game prior to the game's retail release date. That being said, some Game Changer SHOULD know what the tuner does.

But no........everybody is silent and pleading the 5th. Game Changers say they don't know, the Community manager don't know. How is this possible in a billion dollar company ?

Tuners don't appear out of thin air. No developer is allowed to just release a tuner on his own without permission from the rest of the development team. No paper trail ? Clearly somebody had to fax or email other people on the team what the tuner suppose to have fixed. Left a sticky post it note on their PC monitor or something.

This all just smells like a cover up. Tuner comes out for a game and makes the game play worse, but yet nobody has a clue of what the tuner did ? Really ??

Just be honest and up front about stuff. If it intended to do x, y, z, but it didn't happen and caused a, b, c to happen instead, I could live with that. But for a billion dollar company to say they don't what the tuner did just sounds fishy to me. You released it, therefore you have to know what it did.

Tuner definitely is better without the update. Like a night and day difference. One more reason why EA is the worst company in America for 2012. They deserved that Golden Poo Award!
